You know...Im gunna go on a UBG rant for a bit, but just cause there arent a lot of people doesnt mean that you shouldnt show up. 80% of the time there will only be 4-5 people hanging around. Very rarely will there be 10 or more people. Its not exactly a club meet, its just a bunch of people that hang out and have fun. If you are gunna drive through, drive past, just to see how many people are there, just stay home. Gas is too expensive for anyone to drive around to see people in a parking lot.
This is not targeted at anyone directly, just saying that I see it all the time "I saw some people, but not a lot so I went home" type crap that just buggs the **** out of me. Half the time its Ian, j0n, j3w and me just bull****ting.
We dont do any major fun things, we just stand, chat, eat, and on the occassion touch 18 year old girls boobs, kick guys in the junk, and smack girls on the ass. Trucks can turn into anything like a one armed toothless black guy who wanted to have mouth sex with the Fidget. Or a Camry blows out a tire, and a 450lb guy rolls out the back door, or we just stand there and talk about ********. Trucks is just a general thing. If you dont wana come out and chill, then thats fine. But dont go looking to do some crazy stuff, the crazy stuff comes to us.

Well, this is just a sign that there is a line between the classic members, and newboids.
Newboids just wana roll around for no reason.
Classic members are friends, there for eachother, friendships that will most likely last a lifetime.
Ill add this as well. Website aside, I have been friends with some people on this board through many forums for years. I have met many people over the years that are still good friends of mine, and would do just about anything for them and some of them Id do everything for them.
Thats something you cant do driving around.

Then you would have hated our group out at Carlisle. We hung with 100+ NastyZ28 (2nd gen site) people all weekend. From all over, Texas, Georgia, California, Illinois, NJ, NY, mass, etc… The show field is just a closer place to park, lol.

wow guys cut it out hahah. i thought everyone was on this website to get a sense of community. to interact with people who have the same interests as yourself.
if you dont want community, drive a honda. i frequent a honda forum all the time and they are idiots who dont want to do anything but steal eachothers cars, take their parts, sell their parts, and race ANYONE even if its your grandmother in a buick. when i bought a camaro it was a great sense of community when i did

I don't need to justify myself to anyone on this bored.....but I have had three different f-bodies in the past, and I currently still do have an f-body. it used to be like that. when i bought my first 86 camaro the fbod wave was in full swing. every camaro or trans am would wave and even some vette guys. when i got my other 86 a year or so ago i noticed that the fbody community was tainted. stang and honda owners grabbing camaros and not returning the sense of community. thats what i was talking about before...i wanna go and hang out with some fbody people and see what their cars are about or maybe go for a little cruise.
on the other hand
i just moved back from california and have noticed out there when people meet up in a parking lot its a bunch of 'hood up' talk. seriously. whats going on with peoples lives and their kids isnt something im there for. blah. just my 39 cents. i dont care if no one wants to cruise...but no one wants a 'hood up' conversation anymore.
that headgasket party sounded like my type of meet....we need more things like that going on. too bad it never panned out.
no hate in my words...only calm discussion

A lot of us are great friends with our withotu cars. We still shoot the **** about cars, as most of the stuff we talk about revolve around our cars, our dream cars, a car we saw, a car we raced, or general ****. I have personally gone on rants reguarding cars at work, and for the most part people like my stories.
But dude, I dont know what you want. I dont find it cool to drive around in cars unless its to get to a place to chat and hang with friends.
Again, you dont have to hang out with us, but then again I dont know if we want you here anymore. Maybe its people like you who bring a bad name to our culture?

Classic members are friends, there for eachother, friendships that will most likely last a lifetime.
exactly. a lot of us have become incredibly good friends that goes beyond what each car is made of. I haven't been around a lot because of working an insane amount of hours to get my own business off the ground, but I know that if I called any one of probably the 30 or so members that I have the numbers for they'd help me out with whatever problem I had, whether personal, car related, or just random bsing. This club is about people who come together because of close proximity and common interest, and eventually become friends off the site for other reasons entirely.
Some of the people here I hang out with more than the friends I've known growing up. When you form a bond based on this kind of a common interest, one that can take you outside of the intraweb, out side of your community, as well as outside of your general daily routine, its a stronger friendship than one that was formed simply because you went to high school with someone. There are some incredible people here, and its really nobody elses loss if someone doesn't want to hang out and find out what we're all about.
We laugh together, we cry together, we drink together, and we generally eat together too. And anybody who's seen pictures from our gatherings know we party together quite well. It's a fun group to join, and we don't turn anyone down. Usually, anyhow.
As for scotts comment about our nastyz28 gathering at carlisle.. nastyz is just njfboa spread out throughout the entire US with a median age abotu 10-15 years older. I was so happy I got to stay Friday night this year, that was a lot of fun.
This thread brings a tear to my eye......not...

Its sad that its come down to this, but your statement and ideas of a club are absolutely absurd. This club was BUILT by hanging out in parking lots, restaurants, and even peoples houses. If it wasn’t for the friendships many of us have built over the years we would have absolutely nothing, and people would be driving by and not waving. If it wasn’t for those activities you would probably still be driving around wasting an ass load of gas and never actually meeting people who share the same interest as you. I have been with this site for nearly 4 years now, & have invested my fair share of energy, time & money and still it pales in comparison to what Justin & Tim have gone through to bring us this club. I have made some of my best friends through this site and have met countless other amazing people who I would do absolutely as much as I possibly could for. It started with a common interest and involved to something I can’t even begin to explain. This club has such a diverse community of people from every walk of life who wouldn’t want to get to know them? I myself am the type of person who likes to go out and experience new things. I hate monotonous things like driving around aimlessly. If just wanting to drive around and race isn’t anti-social I don’t know what else is. How are you going to talk about cars when your to busy driving them? The people who cared got out there, we contributed, organized & drove all over the state to meet random names from a forum. I’ve had some of the best times of my life with people from this club, and 99.9% of the time it was unrelated to our cars because I got out there and talked.
Obviously you have the wrong idea about this site, and it would be probably in your best interests to just leave.

wow i guess my original statement was taking out of hand. All i wanted to know is if you guys do something actually car related up there or just hang out. Didn't ask for a large breakout discussion to occur. I cant believe it ended up this bad. wow.
i was just seeing what the events were like up there so I didnt have to waste the gas to impede upon your hang out. damn. guess you can fault a guy for being curious.
I just cant believe that I'm the only one on this forum that enjoys tearing ass around on the highways.

First off, you can't cruise in NJ because there are way too many traffic lights, stop signs and traffic. 3rd, you can't communicate with people well when you're all driving around in circles. I cruise in my car every day so doing it on the weekend or weeknight is nothing special. Getting together with people is more interested. It has nothing to do with the price of gas, but why would you want to just cruise around for no reason? Now, if you were to cruise down to the south meet on Saturday you can accomplish both things, cruising and meeting up with people!

hahah jeff you own.
i cruise around by myself mostly because there isnt anything to do. Rt 37 Toms River groups know how to do the parking lot meets. Standing around with a bunch of people in a parking lot talking cars is fun and awesome...but like i said before 5 people in a parking lot eating sammiches sounds a bit too personal for me...not flaming anyone or downing anyone for doing it...i do it at 5 guys all the times...but with my real life friends...people i actually have something to talk about personal lives with and bs. im just not that open with people....so i leave it to cars only :moon:
jeff you need to clue me in to some fun places to cruise TO.

kidding aside. the entire point of the hijack that has occurred here is to show that we ARE real life friends. no, its not necessarily something that happens the first time you come to hang out, but once someone starts hanging out with a group, all of a sudden they become part of it, and you have more real life friends. Come to think of it, most of my real life friends have been generated from here or meets regarding here.

I think we talk abotu cars more then anything else? That or we talk about the internets, or something going on about the site.
See, we can chat about anything and be happy. If you dont wana chat, then maybe hanging out isn't your game. This club is open to anyone, but I guess you have to have a certain personality to be a true member of this club. The people that fit our profile are the same people that have been around for years.
Many people on this site dont go to the little meets, dont travel out to the big ones, or just dont really participate in anything outside of the internet, and that doesnt make them bad people, and it doesnt make you a bad person. You just dont fit into our large family. It happens, no biggie. You are welcome to keep with the site and chat about cars, but if you dont wana join the family, thats fine.

U know. I was going to stay outta this cause I know I don't like groups and to each his own, plus u never said anything to me directly that bugged me. BUT then, I read that post in the Multimedia forum so I feel the need to come in here. Nobody wants to see a Charger or Ford (Mercury ACTUALLY) but they want to see an F-Bod that they can see by walking outside?
I understand its an F-body board and I've always used that as the justification as to why the COTM is always an F-Bod and I don't have a problem with this but when people start talking down on my Ford (MERCURY) I don't take kindly to this.
Wanna cruise? I'll cruise to Atco, Englishtown, or Island with you. Your choice. Then when we get there I'll put up any wager you desire to pit your low 13 hi 12 Ell Ess Won against my high 11 second Ford (Merc) 4.6L DOHC InTech.

the reason he didn't put the supercharger in the marauder is because he bought it with the supercharger in it already. But he spent many hard manhours putting all the parts into the lightening and its kinda hard to do a lot of carwork when ur working 14 hours a day 7 days a week.

If you are not getting what you want from this site then maybe its time to move on. For most of us who have been here a long time and have gone to alot of the meets (especially the original Wednesday night trucks crew) we are some of the closest friends on here. We BS about cars, check them out, and yeah we are close friends so we have other things to talk about. You wont find any better of friends/people than some of the people on this site but I guess to some that doesnt mean much. If you wanna go to a meet where you want to work on something, I will bring a car to the trucks and let you work on it while the rest of us hang out.

Aye.
In order to bring this thread to a close, I will say that if you arent the outgoing type, if you dont want to make lasting friendships, if you dont want to have a large group of friends to chat with and talk or help with cars, and just want to chat on the internets, then I suggest you dont leave that computer chair.

i had to fix this....
the reason i said you have never been to atco is because you seem to think they will check your tires.. they WONT
also you post like you know about racing in some other threads, but you dont seem to know that you dont do "mean burnouts" on street tires, its the NUMBER 1 newb mistake.....you do a quick blip of the throttle to make them spin once or twice to clean them off, big burnouts REDUCE traction in steel belted radial street tires
