I saw these clear corners + clear bumper lights for my 94 Z on eBay for $45.00
should I go ahead and buy it?
And if I do would I be recommended to buy Xenon leds for them or keep the stockers.

like i said, its hit or miss with leaking lenses. if you leave them clear, colored stock bulbs is fine. if you night shade them, you may have to look into LED's for the turn signals. i get alota dirty looks during the day. oh well

the only true way to get them to not leak is to separate the lens from the housing and reseal it yourself...which isnt very easy

mine only leaked after i used superwhite bulbs... went through 3 sets, finally eliminated DRLs and used stock amber bulbs, never had an issue since.

sweetbmxrider
07-08-2008, 07:10 PM
just make sure they are colored, unless you want it clear

Jam
07-08-2008, 07:38 PM
No I want it to be clear, because smoked corners on a black car don't look good in my opinion.

xenon lights are for headlights. the gas burns at such a high temp, it produces a blue light. not exactly possible in a turn signal???

i looked at the link...

"Xenon LOOK"... yes just the "look"... hooked on phonics worked for me.

aka.. superwhites and will eventually melt the clear and your socket causing even worse leaking issues...

I sealed my front & rear clear corners with clear window silicone, let them dry in the sun for a day in the sun, never had a leak. Going on 2+ years.

alright. yeah then I'll just leave the stock lights on. Wait so I have a leak in one of my tail lights. Am I supposed to detach the tail light, separate the housing from the lens, wipe it/clean it, then use an adhesive such as silicone PVC to join em.

you can do that but when i had a leaky tail light i just ran a bead of silicone like alex said around the seam and let it dry for a few hours then no more leaks. also you can use a hair dryer to get the moisture out. nice car by the way, black z28s ftw!

haha TRUE THAT!!
But I'd rather make it 100% sure that It will be leak proof. So I'll separate the housing and do it the right way

bubba428
07-11-2008, 09:42 PM

Jam

The lenses aren't for a camaro in general. .... yes i know how to replace the corners on my F-Body,.....and sorry for not clarifying myself, "The lenses that I bought off of the eBay network from an individual seller."

The issue that I'm addressing is that the front clear corner lights that I ordered for my model Camaro were not the same lights that were sent to me. They sent me the wrong ones; I did not choose to be given an incorrect pair of clear corners.

bubba428
07-11-2008, 10:34 PM
that what you get for buying from Ebay...the sellers never send the right stuff

Jam

I guess so. Where were you when I needed advice lol, probably on the other thread of mine criticizing me.

bubba428
07-11-2008, 10:57 PM
no I was probably working on my car, or somewhere else having a life...this is just a part time gig

Jam
07-12-2008, 01:08 AM
As for the tail lights separating the housing from the lenses sounds pretty risky with chipping. I'll take the advise to run a window silicone tube on the crack

sweetbmxrider
07-12-2008, 09:43 AM
i still don't get how you got the wrong ones? are they third gen? or what?

Jam
07-12-2008, 10:09 AM
They are meant for another car: the size is around 4" by 8" .

bubba428
07-12-2008, 10:48 AM
ummmm yea dude ours are a lot bigger than the part you see, I think you got the right ones, your just surprised at how they look.....why don't you pull the old ones and see if they match?

from my orginal question...

do you even know how to replace corners on a fbody?

bubba428
07-12-2008, 02:16 PM
obviously not....he probably thinks is just 2 bolts and some duct tape...at least thats what it will be when he's done

Jam

STFU. I know how to replace the front corners. (remove the bottom panel 10mm and 8mm remove the 3 screw on the back of the corners and you pull them out.

I received the wrong front two corners. end of story.
