sounds pretty nice, but look at how high that lift is. 591/571 on the street might be pushing it.

dont just buy an X1 cam. The sound of the cam is because its a 112LSA. the lower the number on LSa the stonger the sound will be. A stock LS1 on a 99 motor i believe is a 117LSa and in 2001-2002 they moved the LSA down to a 116LSA. I think alot of people would agree with me. If you want a cam you also need to get a good set of heads. Also with the sound the true duals play a big part in the sound. Dont just pick a cam out of a catolog from what you heard through your computer speakers hear it in person for yourself. Every camera has a different sound recording device. you could record that car with for example a sony and a canon video camera and the car could sound alot different. I dont know if your car is an auto or manual but just to make things easier when buying a cam if you have an auto go with a 114LSA if you have an manual go with a 112LSA. for an auto to have anything smaller than a 114LSA you need someone who can give you a really good tune.

A custom grind cam is what you want. Find someone who can custom grind you a cam to your needs. I am sure as long as your on a 112LSA with true duals you will get close to that sound.

the driver, cops, neighbors. it really does make a difference. i know nick (iroczbeast) had the same issue with a loud cammed car

It does sound good. I agree with the DaSkinnyGuy. Don't buy a cam for the sound. Have a goal in mind. Some people have told me that with the cam I got now, I'm not getting all I can from the engine. They might be right, but I plan to go FI sometime in the future which is the reason why I chose the cam I have now.

Did either of you have low vacuum or idle issues?

107 is amazing thats a mean idle. thats like a dragster idle. ive heard 110 or 108 LSA and that was mean it vibrated the ground.

edit: i do understand that the sound of a cam isnt just based on the LSA its alos a combination of the exhaust and intake numbers and i believe the overlap. everything plays a factor in the sound.

the car would idle funny most of the time on startup, but it would go back to normal after 5 seconds. i think it was tune related. that car was very drivable with that high lift cam. mid range punch was excellent. now i'm going with a cam similar to pauls. should be more fun :)

i have to go to bed, i just reread that post and realized how bad my grammar is.

all my minor issues are tune related. I have no vaccuum issues though, and idle is managable. It drops sharpley sometimes upon deceleration to a point where my VDO tach actually zeros out. but it does catch it and comes back. But once again, what do u expect with a cam that size, larger injectors, ls6 heads, full exhuast, ported TB, and stock '01 LS1 tune. lol

not if you want a slow car with drivability issues

Or you can just lower the idle speed , Possibly cut back on some timing that isnt needed and get more cam thump..

How are you guys drivability with cams around 230/230 107 etc?

if you say so...we havent gotten harassed by the cops because of exhaust or cam around here (unless we drive like jerks), it has to be regional...or maybe its because most of our stuff is older with QQ tags. Not even when we ran stuff (Camaro / Dans Mustang / Nicks Granada) open exhaust.
