I need to do the front brakes on my 92 rs the pads are on the wear line and the rotors have some scorring going on..
I called a few places up and they said they had 2 size's of front rotors... one was 265mm(something around that number) and the other was 301mm..... whats the difference?
Thanks

you need the smaller of the 2, the 10.5" rotor. The other is the rotor for the 1LE performance package. Few cars got that option. But to be sure just check the front brakes, if its a single piston iron caliper is the 10.5, if its a 2 piston aluminum caliper its the 1LE, but it not going to be. They do not interchange.

why does the hub and rotor have to be one unit?

lot of vehicles do that. Sometimes its a good thing cause then you can inspect, repack and/or replace the wheel bearings and seals when you do the rotors. They aren't expensive either.

utilized? yeah its always nicer to be able to freshen up the grease and such rather wait till it breaks.
