Alex I know you are probably one of the best to ask this but everyone else can chime in too. My wife's aunt just retired and it was her b-day last week. She is really into photography as a hobby and I believe she has a digital camera but might use film too not sure. What is a good store in the north jersey area preferably as close to bloomingdale as possible to get her a gift certificate so she can buy stuff for her hobby?

Best Buy has had some awesome deals lately on cameras and thats probably your best bet when it comes to rebates/gift cards. Depending on if she is a Canon or Nikon fan, any one of the Canon Rebel Series (Xt, XTi, Xsi) are really good bang for your buck entry level digital SLR's. I don't know enough about Nikon's though to give their recommendations.

B&H in the City is also probably the best bet too for stuff, they do a lot of online sales as well. www.bhphotovideo.com

Gene, does she shop online? A gift card to B&H would be perfect I think. There is a brick and mortar store in the city, but online is easier, and she can get some good deals there.

what about for printing out pictures at home and stuff. There is some new store I've seen advertising saying its the only store like it in NJ. Unique or something like that??

if you want to do it in home you can buy a printer that's capable of it but if you go to a pharmacy/walmart it's ~15 cents a print.. sure beats buying a printer

B&H is a great store, personally I always avoid chain stores like best buy. If she shops online, check out Freestyle Photo. (www.freestylephoto.biz) They're out in CA, but have the best deals for students and enthusiasts. More often than not, beating B&H prices. I used them all the time in school
