Well the day has come, about a month ago I was driving and my car was making a noise, now my car has a rod knock. I don't have the money to finish it right now or make into the car I want it to be, its my daily driver. So now I have to sell it, I'm getting a '92 Ford Bronco, 5.0, black and gray, loud Magnaflow Exhaust, heat, A/C, CD player and system and push button 4x4, which is what I need for the winter. I never wanted to get rid of my camaro, but even if I fixed it, I didn't want to go through winter with it. I loved this car. I'm selling it now for $2,000. Now, this Bronco will be my daily driver, and I'm gonna try and save up and by a finished '67-'69 Camaro or Chevelle that I can store and use only in the summer and weekends. My camaro still has so much potential though, has a 355 Stroker Race Motor from Jasper with only 9,000 miles on it, 450 horse and will run low 12s high 11s once the rod knock is fixed. Well, I'm going to stay on the board when I get rid of it, hopefully I can get another one in a year or two. -Jeff.

Sorry man... can you just take it off the road, hand plates in, cancel insurance and once you have spare cash then take a further look?
I've done that before with the v6 bird

I wish I could, but the money from that is going to buy the truck. I'm going on a family vacation next week for 2 weeks and when I come back, I've got 3 weeks till college starts up again and I need transportation. It really s**ks.-Jeff.

that's a shame. too many people abandon their vehicles because of lack of funds.
be careful about buying a "finished" '67-9 camaro or chevelle... make sure you do your homework so that your money is well spent instead of finding out 6 months into it that your X11 car is a v6 coupe...

That's I6, Jim  But that doesn't take away from your point at all. Do your homework thoroughly before you buy anything classic.

My car has been strung up in my backyard for the past month. I thought about doing that, but the fund just isn't set up for it, and the motor only needs that one rod bearing fixed, then the car will be fine again, it still runs and everything. Gotta get together again soon for another trip to Hooters, ha ha. Once I save up for a year, I'm going to find another one. Later, Jeff.

Need to sell it by Friday because I'm going on vacation for a week and the guy might not hold the bronco for me for that long. So if anyone has friends that might be looking, please help me out and spread the word. Thanks, Jeff.

Yep, but since the motor was purchased in '03, even though it only has 9,000 miles on it, its about 3 years too late.

Hey guys, I came back from vacation Monday and my camaro is STILL for sale if you guys know anybody. I have to get rid of the car by the weekend because I put a deposit down on a truck and the money from the camaro is going to buy that. At the end of the weekend, the guy is keeping my deposit and selling the truck to someone else as he as be holding it for over a month now. So if you guys know anyone, it be appreciated if you can help me spread the word. I'm open to all reasonable offers. My cell is (862) 202-4944. Thanks, Jeff.

Pressure is building, ha ha. Have to sell the car by tomorrow night or the truck I put a deposit on is going. I dropped the price of my car down to $1,600, so if anybody knows someone looking, please help me out. Thanks, Jeff.

Well, I still have the car and I got the guy to hold the truck for a few more days. Its funny how much some people have been offering me. One guy offered me $500 and I told him I'd sell him my 4.5" Cowl Hood to use as a bike ramp, then he responded w/ $900, so I told him I'd sell him the bike to go w/ it, ha ha, some people are unbelievable. -Jeff.

yeah, i hate to say it, man, but you can only expect about a G for it. consider its condition, not your sentimental value, and you'll see that i am right. that probably doesn't get you in the door for the bronco, unfortunately.
it sucks to be in between a rock and a hard place, but look at the big X at your feet and you'll see where you are. and, as the pressure mounts, you feel less and less like you want to sell it, but you have to sell it... i feel for ya, bro.

Hey guys, I would part it out, but I don't have time to sit in my driveway and take everything apart piece by piece. The car is worth more than a $1,000, not just my sentimental value, it is worth $2,000 considering it has over $4,000 in high performance parts. The motor was about $5,000 that the kid before me put in. The car still starts up right away and runs, its just one bad rod bearing. The transmission was rebuilt 2,000 miles ago. 2 sets of rims are going with it, on it now is 15x7 Pro-Stars in the front and the backs are 15x10 Pro-Stars, the other rims going with it are stock Z28 rims from a '97, 4.5" cowl hood, MSD street fire distributor, MSD 6A ignition, B & M torque converter, B & M Ratchet shifter Edelbrock 750 Carb, brand new Moroso shocks, Flowmaster exhaust, once the bearing is fixed, the car will run a lot better. I hear ya about the lowballers. For BigAl, the $950, I'll give ya the helmet to go with ramp and bike, ha ha ha. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for sticking by with me as I try to sell my car. I've had quite a few offers of $1,800, and two were actually coming with a trailer, but one guy's wife said no, and the other bought a '92 instead w/ no motor or trans. However, I do have one person interested right now that might buy it this weekend from me for $1,800, so everybody say a prayer, ha ha, and keep your fingers crossed for me. Thanks again, Jeff.

Mods & hi-perf parts do not mean increased value. In fact they often reduce value. And the cost of the engine is irrelevant if it is beat. Rod bearing = engine is beat to a buyer.
Just $0.02. Good luck, I hope you get the $$.

I hear ya, the motor is a 355, but it wasn't beat, the bearing blew because one night when I got out of work there wasn't enough oil getting to the motor, I thought it was something simple like the sending unit, but it turned out the oil pump seized up and there wasn't enough oil getting to the engine, thus the broken rod bearing. I always cruised w/ that car, I occasionally stepped on the gas a little bit, but mainly babied it. The car has always had proper oil changes and was just tuned up 2 months ago. The motor has 9,000 miles on it and the body of the car has about 47,000 original miles. Thanks for wishing me luck, I'm going to need it. -Jeff.
