anyone have any info/suggestions/articles on upgrading front and rear brakes on lt1's? i've heard c5 and ls1. which is better for a daily driver just really looking to fill in the wheels with larger rotors while obviously achieving better braking? whats the pricing or parts list look like? i think i want to do the rears first, though my fronts have some noise sometimes. thanks erbody!!

kore3 (http://www.kore3.com/categories.php?cat=7) - i found these guys. anyone deal with them? i have 17inch wheels in the front and 18inch wheels in the back, not positive about what i can fit but i think i know

looks like these (http://www.kore3.com/proddetail.php?prod=10105-01) for the front. don't see anything for rears though. do ls1 calipers and rotors just swap in? will ls1 calipers work with my lt1 parking brake lines?

I did the ls1 brake swap on my 96.

Just went to contemporary corvette and got the stuff for like 150 bucks.

Spindles, lines, calipers, rotors (with i used as cores for new ones).

If you feel like shelling out that much cash just so they look bigger behind the wheel.

why bother with the rears?

cuz it looks like crap. 18 inch wheel with a whole lotta empty behind it. i don't like it.

Theres not much in the field of big brake upgrades for our cars other then the big names like Brembo, StopTech, Baer etc... Personally I think the C5 conversion is the most appealing combination available for our cars & best bang for your buck. I've seen a few with C6 conversions but the brakes are just down right ridiculously large. Just remember that when you go to a C5/6 brake you can no longer put on a wheel on smaller then 17's.

My plan is to go with a C5 Z06 Brake Conversion using the Black Z06 Calipers with Hawks pads & power slot rotors using whatever brackets I can find for the best deal. Then for the rear I would do the 98+ rear disc conversion with AC Delco stuff.

keep in mind LT1 and LS1 rear brakes have different backing plates. This means your axles will need to come out to do the swap.

Go on any one of the big camaro boards a LS1 brake upgrade is a popular upgrade for LT1ers ever since the Ls1 came out. Should be a ton of info

100k. i have some oil leaking from the timing case cover so i figured if its all out then might as well. don't they convert to LT4 timing components?
