I wish I had really deep pockets so I could buy a 2010 camaro and then by the first crashed zr1 vette. 630rwhp super charged camaro would be sweet...

Just thinking out loud.

Or just buy a supercharger for the maro..... Because a Z06 with an aftermarket supercharger is cheaper/faster than the ZR1's...

people that get the ZR1 over the Z06 arent looking for cheaper/faster, They are getting a ZR1 to say "Hey, Look what I have!" and they are most likely going to be sitting in "that" guys garage, collecting dust.

i don't know. i've seen gallardos on the street and a plethora of prancing horses, so there are people out there that still buy cars to drive them.

and it would be much better to buy a turbo/supercharger kit that is made for the camaro than to completely transplant the heart and peripherals. at least, with a warranty, you are pretty much assured that it will run. if you swap drivetrains, then you void your warranty and i could foresee numerous problems with a swap as compared to a bolt-on.

just thinking out loud.

I agree, but once you strap the supercharger on that voids the warranty too.

some companies that make the superchargers step up with a warranty. just strapping on a SC doesn't automatically void the warranty. you have to read the fine print of your warranty book.

yea you gotta check with the vehicle manufacturer warranty and see if it voids it, but in most cases whatever you do wont be covered under warranty and if it blows up and breaks something else, that wont be covered either.

Ive completely stopped paying attention to v8 cars w/ gas prises where there at, and there bound to only get worse...Ive been interested lately in fi sport compacts (new cobalt,srt4's,etc) strictly because of the the rise of fuel prices. Ultimately I think its going to hurt the new crop of these v8's. There has been a challenger collecting dust at a dodge dealer near me for over a mth.

Not 100% true. Some companies (Magnacharger?) go through all the BS with GM to make them acceptable with the factory warranty.

It's still in the air as to whether is will make it to production. There are people "in the know" that say it is still on and a go. It will not have the ZR1 engine(the LS9), it will have the LSA. I believe all it is a detuned version that is also going in the Caddy CTS-V's and will produce in the neighborhood of 550HP/550TQ and cost around 45K to challenge the GT500.

Bingo. Z28 will get the LSA that will be found in the CTS-V making 550-560hp.
The LSA gets a smaller supercharger, and does not get the ZR1's dry sump oil system.

ok...

stop bashing on v8 engines. in case ya hadn't heard, the base model camaro comes with a v6 making upwards of 300 horses...

Lol so 2011 z28 = 550hp for 45,000 bucks vs fords cobra making 500 for 85,000.

We win again...

True...the RS package looks like an amazing deal. 300hp, 3700lbs, 6spd manual or auto, halo/hid headlights, interior upgrade, badges, wheels, and still well under 30k.

My biggest issue about these cars is they leave very little room for visual upgrades.

The only Cobra around 85k is the Shelby King Cobra, and its 750hp

I have been toying with the thought of putting the ZR1 S/C in my T/A. Only problem I might see is the fitment. Oh yeah, of course money.

I made it a Pearl White, Gold 18/19's, extended the lower chin, raised the cowl hood & stretched it towards the windshield & extended the rear spoiler up and back a little.

Your comment=The Fail! haha, I have to completely disagree with you, that picture posted above is sweet, but I think it may be chopped from the concept and not the production car because the roof line looks too low.

Whats the base price on the 500hp model? I thought I was reading somewhere about who the hell wants to pay 85k for a mustang. Idk maybe it was 65k.

base on a GT500 is 54k, but they could have been talking about dealership markup. Some of them charge a massive over sticker price for them claiming they are rare and hard to get, even though they make 7000 a year.

If I had the cash, I would definately get a '10 Camaro. I don't think I'd want it yellow and black like bumble Bee, but would have to have the bee-otch air freshner.

GT500 is 54k, and the GT500KR is 80k for 40 more hp over the GT500 as well as some other upgrades.

Z28 will go after the KR, while below or at GT500 price.
SRT is working on a bigger 6.4 Hemi that will make more power, but ist possible that they are working on a "426" 7 liter Hemi making 500-550hp. Im not sure, but since Crysler was so kind to rip off the GenIII design, its possible.

That would be sick.

I know Dodge has two versions of the 392 hemi, a 550hp version and a 650hp version. Not sure about a 426, I dont know how economical that would be to have multiple motors making the same power.

The other hemi's are not street legal. They are like the LSX type engines, aftermarket only from what I understand.
I know that they are working on a 6.4 liter Hemi making high 400's.
Ford had the Boss OHV engines going, but that isnt going to make it into the Mustang right now.
