Crazy! There's also a family in Arkansas with 17, and the wife is pregnant with their 18th due Jan 09. She has been pregnant for about 11 years straight.

There's a family here in Marlboro with 10 kids...not as bad, but still a lot! They have 2 sets of twins and 1 set of sextuplets. I've seen them featured in Blue Cross Blue Shield ads and billboards.

If the kids are given proper car why should it be illegal?

True. If you have the means to support a family like that, and the physical and mental ability to handle all those kids, then knock yourself out. I give them credit 'cause I don't think I could handle it.

There is no way that guy is supporting 18 kids on his own. I'm sure they are getting gov't funding of some sort as well as donations from all over the place. What about people who only have 1 or 2 kids where is there free hand out money.

I couldn't imaging being 18 and having a new born brother/sister from my non-birth control practicing ignorant parents. Just because you have sex and get pregnant doesn't mean GOD "who is about as real as santa claus" wants you to have that many. Ever hear of a condom or a pill. That's just pathetic.

i don't think they are receiving gov't aid - they are in canada, remember, where health care is funded by the gov't, so that right there takes a load off.

i'd like to know where this "free hand out money" is so i can go get some.

i use the term 'god' very loosely in my posts, hence why it is 'god' and not 'God' - i, too, interpret things differently and i don't believe in satan claus, either. no one ever said god wanted them to have that many, only that they were all born and are living healthily. while they may have heard of birth-control, they choose not to use it. how is that any different than someone who uses it all of the time, other than the pregnancies that result? it's what they believe in, so more power to them. as long as the kids are healthy, who gives a rat's ass? once you've got some years behind you and you start a family, your opinion will change. there is nothing more beautiful than creating a life - and those who have will surely share my opinion...

And you all have very valid points. Why the hell should it be illegal if they can support the children and they grow up healthy and in a loving environment....Then more power to em.

I think when I have children, 2 will be my limit. But to those who wish for a large family - They get what they want and I'm sure they wouldn't do it if they couldn't support the kids.

the fact that they had 18 kids and all are healthy and thriving shows the fact those are the type of people that SHOULD have kids. not the girls round the corner who have 2 kids and 6 abortions under their belt watching maury all day while collecting some of that guvment cheese
