So I was thinking, would I be able to just find an ls1 air box but have an lt1 air lid on there? Would that work?

no. the lt1 hoods have the opening further back IIRC, ls1 style are low and up front

ok, now that i've found it....

I can't for the life of me find one...that's cheap!
