As the title says, what do you guys think?

I know its the way that it has been for a while and this may be a touchy subject for some football fans, but does anyone feel that it's time NY gets its own football stadium instead of having it in NJ or maybe NJ should get our own team or take ownership of the Giants or Jets for that matter? I mean if your argument is that land is too pricey in NJ to build or own to have NJ's own team, then couldn't they always boot the Jets and Giants out of NJ's stadium and just make their own team and have a NJ team to play there? Or if you argument is that there is no room to build a new stadium in NY anywhere for the Giants/Jets to play at, isn't there plenty of room in upstate NY or other places close to, but outside of the city where they could build a stadium to call it their own?

I am not forcing these ideas, I just want to know what you guys think, thats all.
The only thing I don't like is that they call themselves the NY Giants and Jets when they play in NJ. I think that is something NY robs NJ people of. I mean we also have NJ people rooting for the Yankees and Mets (Granted they are located in NY), but why doesn't NJ have its own professional Baseball team? I mean there are many different minor league stadiums built in NJ, so I am sure they could manage to build a ballpark for a NJ team. But I realize there is more to these ideas than I know, which is why I am asking the question in the first place.

Also, with how much money NJ always wants to make with increasing tolls and such, does NY make revenue off of having their stadium in NJ?
If so, I would be surprised if NJ didn't have a problem with that.

I am just trying to understand things. Most football fans I've talked to about this don't feel passionate about the whole question one way or another.

This is more a question-type post and to see how you guys/girls all feel about the subject.

They bring revenue to our state. Giants and Jets are both named so because they are New York teams. New Jersey is not the Giant, NY city is. Jersey Giants just sounds weird to me. I say let them keep their name.

There's too much $$ involved to "boot them". That'll never happen. That part of NNJ is still considered part of the NY metropolitan area, so I guess that's what it falls under...just like EWR is considered one of the 3 "NY area" airports.

Not to mention, NJ is the laughing stock of the country anyway, so there's not much value in our name. I can't tell you how many times when I travel, whether for business or vacation, people say "oh, sorry to hear that" when I tell them where I'm from. All the negative news from around here travels far and wide, and people can't believe that we actually put up with it.

I realize NJ is a laughing stock of the country, but still, that doesn't bother you all that NJ people are rooting for a team that plays in NJ but is located in NY?

Or you really don't feel that NY should at least build their own stadium in NY?

Or you don't feel that NJ should build their own Football stadium and form a team?

I realize NJ is a laughing stock of the country, but still, that doesn't bother you all that NJ people are rooting for a team that plays in NJ but is located in NY?Not in the least. SNJ people root for the Crapadelphia teams, so what's the difference?

Or you really don't feel that NY should at least build their own stadium in NY?No. Not that I go a lot anyway, but getting to the Meadowlands to a Jets game is a lot easier than getting to NY, especially if they were to put one out on LI.

Or you don't feel that NJ should build their own Football stadium and form a team?No because most fans around here are diehard, and would never root for another team even if they did. I know I wouldn't.

aren't the Jets getting their own stadium in the city anyway?

No, not happening. New stadium is being built next to the current Giants Stadium for both teams.

I got to go to Shea stadium 2 nights ago to see a Mets game vs the Padres. First time I have ever been to a MLB stadium and I heard they are going to tear it down. I saw the new stadium right next to it. Yo could actually watch the game from the new stadium right next door if you sat in the high bleachers. I've heard from a few people that it is going to be a smaller stadium than the current one.

Anyone know why they are knocking it down?
Or why they put a football stadium in its place?
The stadium seemed fine to me. I don't understand why they're getting rid of it.

Also, what did you guys mean by the Jets possibly building a new stadium?
