this today but if its been around since july 16th i think it would have been more talked about...
I don't know if this is true or not but I figured that I would pass it on.
I want to quickly alert you all that my car failed a New Jersey inspection review today.......now get this......because of the little clear plastic adhesive indicating your 'next oil change' that your service mechanic or dealer would normally place on the top left of the windshield was there.
Absolutely silly, crazy and ludicrous, but true. Effective today, July 16 -- and as they said 'with no exceptions'..... the officer said that any and all cars that have this clear little decal on their window will fail.
What's crazy, is that every car....and I mean every car that was coming off the general inspection line today FAILED! What was happening at the Paramus inspection station was that the line for re-inspection was getting longer than the inspection line itself.
Believe me when I say there was an uproar from all these NJ drivers standing in line. Mainly because everyone was blind sided and were caught unaware of this new situation. All I did was simply remove the decal from the window and I was fine....I passed re-inspection.
But, the amount of wasted time, effort and efficiency at the MV station was insane!!!!! Instead of keeping cars moving out...the station inspectors were busy with an extended line of re-inspections....which of course was holding up the usual inspection process.
I asked why didn't he tell me BEFORE I went through the line so that we'd have less congestion at the station, or at least put up a sign that indicated this new rule is in place STARTING TODAY so that people would not be standing in some other line with their cars idling, wasting time and valuable gas. He indicated that they were not allowed to do so.
Therefore, in an effort to save my NJ friends time and aggravation, I am passing this bit of information on to you all. You should also pass this on to any other NJ driving friend as well.
