I want to check the A/C pressure with a gauge that looks like a TIRE pressure gauge. It says to use the low pressure inlet side on the acumulator. On my car is that the valve that sticks out by ITSELF and is larger than the one that is attached to a line coming out of it. I looked in my Factory Service Manual, but it does not show a clear picture of which fitting I should attach it to.

The high & lo valves should be different size.

IMO, if you have to ask you should not touch your AC system.

Has it been converted to R-134A with new fittings???

It still has the R12 original fittings. This piece looks like a large aluminum can with a fitting facing the motor(nothing attached to it)and is the larger of the fittings. The other is attached to a line that is coming out of the can and has a smaller fitting on it.

small = low

large = high

like bonzo said, if you don't know a/c you don't wanna mess with it.

Thanks for the info. If I want to check the pressure with the tire pressure LOOKING tool, that is the one I want. Also is this the fitting I use to attach the line from a 12 oz. can of R12 that I have? They say to use the LOW PRESSURE inlet and I want to be 100% sure. I can't find a good picture of the accumulator with those fittings and lines coming out of it. If anybody could supply a picture(I stink at getting pictures on here)it would be a great help. :nod:
