Yeah, I'm a sucka for cool billet stuff! :) This should look cool mounted on the carbon fiber "back seat delete" panel I'm building for the AMX! 8-)

If ya mean a "bottle or NAWZ system," I got 'em both. They're just not as photogenic as the bracket. :)
bob, if you care at all about tech inspection ( not sure you do, or even if the tracks here would check), your supposed to have to bottle brackets mounted to somthing solidly connected to the chassis........be careful with the way you design it

Hey Mike,
Thanx for the inside info. I can prolly come up with something that will be "within specs." I blew out the whole interior and am starting from scratch, so I'll add this to the list.

I am going road racing...in honor of Mark Donohue, the N20 is going to be my "unfair advantage!" :) Plus I'm hoping to do some top ending, where the N20 will come in handy.

I got it off E bay. Guy was really cool to deal with...he had a bad batch come back from the anodizing place [they got scratched up in shipping], so he offered me my $ back if I didn't want to wait for the anodizing to be redone. I told him I'd wait, so he refunded the extra $ I paid for the anodizing. And the piece is pretty much perfect.

I'd do some homework on rules and regs so you don't end up in a compromised position. You could always just remove the bottle for road racing, but I don't know if they would let you on track with the bottle installed and the system armed.
You don't strike me as one looking for or caring what other people think, but the whole NOS deal completely discredits the work and theme you have done so far, both of which are of commendable quality. I'd ditch it ASAP. Mark Donohue is rolling over in his grave I'd bet.
It is a nice bracket, I just not sure if it belongs in your AMX given your intentions and the theme you seem to be shooting for. Either way good luck and mount it properly, blow down vent etc. etc.

Heh, interesting views, but I don't think Mark D is rolling over in his grave. N2O was used to gain an "advantage" going back to Smokey Yunick's time. In fact, Smokey was supposedly one of the first to try it. And there are legendary stories about NASCAR and other road racin' guys hiding N20 inside roll bar tubes, inside bottles in their uniforms, etc etc. So, I'm not "far off the mark" with my intentions. I'm just not hiding anything. Plus the bottle will be easily removed if not allowed or needed. And if I someday realize my dream of running the Maxton Mile or such, that N20 might be the "advantage" I need to get into the 200 MPH club.

youll need ALOT more then just nos to hit 200.

NO, YOU DON'T! I've seen the Fast and Furious flix, and everyone knows all you need is a 75 shot of NAWZ to get up over 200 MPH! The only thing that can hold you back if if you blow the welds off your intake manifold!
Actually, I'm sciencing out the "hows"...and if the "whens" ever come the N20 will just be the icing on the cake. :)

just from doing some light reading and even looking at pictures at any ORR event, youd have to do so much aerodynamic work to your AMX, that when youre done with it, it wouldnt even look like an AMX anymore. no to mention the enormous amount of safety equipment youd need to be allowed to run at 200. full nascar cage, fire surpression, full suits, etc.
im not sure about a standing mile, but im also almost positive you cant use NOS at all in an ORR.

Somehow I find that hard to believe. The Gottlieb's Big Red Camaro hit 220 and it really doesn't look too far from stock on the outside.
PS Bracket looks cool Bob!

i knew someone was going to bring up big red. thats an entire different class of car. thats a NASCAR tube frame chassis, full custom suspension, the works. not to mention a mountian motor making what, 700+ hp? it hits speed out of shear brute force, and the proper ride height and suspension geometry.
im not saying he cant make his car fast. but i doubt he'll get anywhere near 200, let alone do it safely. if he enters any kind of standing mile or ORR event, his speed will be limited by the amount of saftey equipment he has installed. so whatever power hes making will be all for nought, until he installs a full cage, fire supression, etc.

At least with all the dynomat it will be quiet at 200. I think Bob can do it - with dominion heads!

Yea, I think the dominion headed 396 will be more than capable of pushing the car to 200+, regardless of the safety equipment.

Well, this guy with a 1970 Javelin was clocked at 192 MPH in the Silver State open road event, and he supposedly did some "testing" at 217 MPH http://www.amx-perience.com/SilverState1997.htm
My car has better aerodynamics then his car, I'm going to have more power than him [probably A LOT more, w/o the N20!], and my suspension is going to be better sorted out. If I need more "cage," so be it, and a fire supression system is a good idea anywho. But, talk is cheap, and I like when people doubt me. It gives me a purpose. I have a 12 year history with this car, and if I listened to or cared what people have to say I would've parked the car and hid under the bed a long time ago. But that ain't gonna happen. Keep those cards and letters coming, 'cause ubg likes the spot light!
