So how hard was it to get formed into place? And how much weight do you think it adds to the car? Should be a lot quieter with that nice layer of sound deadener. My 70 is actually not bad at all inside even with the 3" dual exhaust. The Camaros do have a decent sound deadener from the factory though.

It was very easy to form into place, but the adhesive is messy as hell, and gets all over everything! I tried to clean it off the foil side, but had no luck. So, I went to the fabric store, bought some cheap cotton material, and applied it over the foil w/ spray adhesive. Now I have a nice, clean surface to work off of. And as far as weight, I have no idea. But since I'm deleting a bunch of weight out of the car, I figues it's not a bad trade off to quiet the interior and kill some of the heat from the exhaust. The interior used to shake, bake, rattle, and roll, so I'm looking to end that.

The stuff I used is called RAAMmat, and it is quite a bit cheaper than the "other" stuff out there, like Dynamat.

Just an FYI I found that the actual Dynamat brand product isn't as messy. But it is substantially more money. Plan on around $1,000 to do the full floor on a car...that includes the trunk area. Larger cars would be more.

I'd have to look back at my old post from a year or two ago but I weighed a box of Dynamat before installing. If anyone really wants to know just do a search I suppose.

Bob, looks like a helluva job! One question though; what's with the clutch pedal? I thought you had an automagic in there?

Very nice - I've done it to a couple past cars and it makes a BIG difference.

Thanks, man. Hmmmm, wonder if I know the guy you saw...:)

Me too! lol

Thanks, man. Yeah, the AMX rolls with the Yankee's key chain! lol I have a few AMC keychains, but eh, the Yankees are gonna stay there. :)

Thanks, Stevo! Well, the car was orig. a 4 speed, but due to twists of fate and BS it ended up an automatic. But, since it's a full manual valve body, 4 speed auto, I guess you can still say it's a four speed! I've been toying with the idea of using the clutch pedal to actuate my NAWZ system.

Thanks. I'm glad to hear some reports of it making a difference from guys who've done it, 'cause if it doesn't help after all the work I put in, I'm gonna bawl like a baby!

i have bquiet in my car, mostly because its the lightest for the amount of sound it baffles.

hey bob, time to paint that roll bar!

Yeah, it's on the list. I'm gonna be doing some swing out side bars and other stuff, so once the fab work is done it'll get cleaned up and painted.
