Looks like quite a project - have fun with it!
I don't remember if there is a difference or not, but I have an uncracked dashpad from an '89 Formula taking up space in my parent's basement that I would let go cheap. You only need 2 more posts to get to the Classifieds:

the mount is rusted, the tower looks fine. No problem there
definitely has the "battlewagon" look going. Looks like you have quite a project on your hands.

Its not the 350 that we are talking about... More power to ya little lady.
I do caution that you make sure that the subframes, as well as floor plans are solid. Body pannels can be repaired or replaced by your average body man.

Ditto.
Definately a third gen. I found working on my 88TA was a lot of fun. I think if you pick up the shop giude for your model year, have the tools, time and willpower, you'll find it an enjoyable learning experience. Even if it doesn't work out, and the car ends up being a donor for somehting else, you'll pick up some great expereince for the next project.
An enthusiast sees a dream that can come true.
A mechanic sees just another job to finish.
Have fun being an enthusiast getting the hands dirty.

WOMAN I think you should sell that thing and just buy one in better shape. If you dont youll kick yourself in the ass in the end. Theirs an 84 v6 ttop 5 speed camaro for sale for 800 bucks, and a 92 v8 auto matic in damn nice condition for 1400. I will never buy anothe rust bucket and try to make it pimp again!
O and you really meant it when you said youd break it down...I mean damn you snapped a shot of every part on that car!
Fire_Chicken92
09-10-2008, 11:47 PM
lol yeah i did, well i might as well tell you guys im gonna buy another one too! But still fixing this one =) Just figured its soooo much easier to get another one 6sdp then make it 6spd lol

That car has a 6 speed in it? Are you sure its not a 5 speed t-5? If you got a 6 speed in that thing for 500 bucks then you got a deal even with all the rust.

haha nah i said its automatic but I am buying another firebird that IS 6spd. AND for the record, IF it was manual, I would DEF know the difference between 6 and 5 speed lmao. I am female but I promise I'm not blonde and I can count.

If you are buying a 3rd gen 6 speed car you should have someone who is familiar with manual 3rd gens check it out to make sure the swap was done properly.
