So all throughout high school I intentionally avoided taking chem. I hate science already but chem was one of those things that I woulda rather dropped out of hs than taken. And GUESS WHAT. Now, it's biting me in the *** and I have it in college. So Monday is officially my day of misery, compliments of chem class.

some majors require it no matter if you took it in HS or not

If i had all those hours i spent in chem or organic classes back (8 crd of chem 1+2, 12 cred of organic chemistry 1+2, oh and not even thinking about actual lab time. Those were just the class room credits)
AND I CANT REMEMBER A THING, hahah
but in all seriousness, GO TO EVERY CLASS. Also make a habit of at least looking over it after class that day even if you not really studyin. Chem is all about building on the previous days lessons. Miss a day and it not so bad u catch up, but start missing building blocks here and there its not going to be easy.

I actually enjoyed College Chemistry over HS Chemistry. I didn't take many sciences classes in high school as my focus was more towards history (and it still is) so the entry level classes I took in HS never really got into the nitty gritty. It wasn't until College that we were actually able to be "hands on" and I did much better in the class that way.
My best piece of college advice is to show up to all your classes. Be on time, courteous & polite to your fellow class mates and teachers. Get involved and everything should be gravy.
I should know I'm on year 6 out of 7

cuz if you screw up in college chem and get your face burned off its YOUR fault.. in HS they are responsible =)

Nursing is a great profession, my wife is an RN and loves it. However, you will need Chem (think of all the meds different patients are on) and Anatomy and Physiology. They're the two toughest, but it's how you learn how the body works. Good luck!

In High School, I took Biology, Chemistry and Marine Biology, and then when I was in college, I had to take Anatomy and Physiology and Human Biology. College was by far THE best science classes ever!! I see what you mean tho about it totally sucking that your stuck paying for the stupid chemistry class and not getting credit for it. It absolutely sucks. In my high school, we HAD to take chemistry just to be able to graduate from high school. Good luck tho.

I hated Chemistry, took it in High School, don't have to take it in college because I'm a business management major, but man that class was horrible, I got a B+ or an A- in it. The teacher had a thick Romanian accent and she was such a female dog, ha ha. Remember, I only got 2 detentions in high school and one was for her class. She gave us a booklet of printer paper about 20 pages and told us it was a test. So 15 minutes into it, she decided to tell us it didn't count and that it was just for practice, so I just got up while everybody was doing it, I ripped mine up, threw it in the garbage and got a half-hour detention after school, ha ha, miss those high school memories. -Jeff.
