anyone know of a good brand other than OEM? sony wants about 200 for a new battery but i plan on buying a new laptop in about a year so i don't wanna spend too much on this bad boy. energizer has a compatible battery for the same price as OEM so thats of no help. thanks guys

I put up a WTB on ls1tech and found two for far cheaper than one new one. They've been holding up great. Just a thought.

I just checked on eBay and there are a lot of them for sale, most with warranties as listed as new replacements.

I ordered a battery from Calcellular.com last year. The battery worked great but about 2 months later the video card in my laptop fried.

Jake, I have bought camcorder and laptop batteries from http://www.batterybarn.com/ and have never had issues with either. I bought a camcorder battery from them over 2 years ago and it still works great.
