Anybody know who the "go to guy" is now, especially for 2004R trannies? My tranny is OK, but in the future I was planning on having Eric go through it again, and I'm gonna need a different torque conv. I'm out of the loop now, and was wondering if there is anybody with in reasonable driving distance.

Within driving distance? No...

Eric was my guy for Trans'

Only other guy I would think about having do them is Brain Hofer, you can look him up on the TurboBuick or MCSS webboards...

Don't know where you are located but Steve' Transmission Repair in Newton does excellent work on high performance transmission's. He only does high performance but doesn't get involved with late model vehicles. He is a owner/operator, it is just him and I have been racing @ Island with him for the past 4 years, he is a great guy.

Bob:

I hear Chris @ CKPerformance has a good rep. Wrote a manual for the 200-4R. My bro runs a TH400 he built and it's pretty decent.

I mean, if he does a non lock up, with having a lockup now, you need to mod the VB.

Depending on who you talk to...

I have my opinions on Chris. from CK... but, now is not the place for that, and why I didnt mention his name.

Digging around on the 'net has shown me chit on just about everybody I've looked into, including CK. That's part of the reason why I want somebody w/in driving distance. Whomever I choose has some big shoes to fill [Eric's], so I wanna be able to keep an eye on 'em...

Xactly what I'm looking to do. I wanna make the set up as simple as possible.

Its not terribly hard to mod the valve body for non lock up... I did both of mine myself. 200r4's of course.

Everyone tells me you can't run non lock up's on the street also... bologna. I do it all the time.

I agree w/ ya. Non lock up t/cs haven't been around forever, right? Plus with my manual valve body n' intent for the car the lock up function is a moot point for me.
