Sorry to disappoint, but not every team can win every year. Those "monkeys" have won more world series in their tenure than most franchises in the major leagues, can your favorite team say that?

The Yanks missing the playoffs snapped a 13 year streak of post season appearences, that run included 4 world series titles. The only team with a longer streak, the Atlanta Braves had a 14 year run snapped a few years back, they managed only 1 world title in that time.

I guess those monkeys aren't doing too bad after all.

I still love the sense of humor that Cubs fans have found in the team's failures. There are actually shirts that were sold in the team store with the "Anyone can have a bad century" quote on them. lol
