Ok here is the situation. Anyone know of a good shop or place i can get a sticker? My Vette failed because the E-brake because it has to be all the way up to stop the car from rolling:rolleyes: My ws6 passed emissions but failed the odb2 because on the test it read o2's not ready, they also failed me for the e-brake in the ws6. Which again works fine in both cars because i park on hills often and my cars have never rolled. I'm not trying to pay this ****** corrupt state $150 if i get pulled over and given a failure to inspect ticket. Any help would be appreciated

I can't help you with the sticker, but can't you just crawl under the car and adjust the e-brake tension??

yeah just adjust the shoes so they grab sooner! then get some o2 sims and have them tuned out. if you failed obd-II you failed emissions!

Adjust your e-brake and remove your air filter. See if it passes then.

Seems like you're gonna pay no matter what, so why not fix the car?

well is the car setting a code? you can have two monitors not ready and still pass. what exactly did it fail for? i would personally fix it, if the car isn't tuned and the o2's aren't working, you are hurting yourself.

I hear if you give someone money they might pass. Or you know you could fix your car.

state inspection, while a pain in the a$$ sometimes, really does make sure that the cars that pass are safe for the road (and the environment, blah blah blah). you're going to pay someone the same amount (for the inspection sticker) that it will cost to fix the car. so, fix the car.
there should be a little voice inside your head telling you to fix the car. if there isn't, what the hell are you doing driving a corvette?

on obd-II cars, the emissions test is a scan of the computer which constantly checks sensors' parameters and such to ensure your vehicle maitains proper levels of tailpipe emissions. if you failed obd-II, you failed emissions. please write what exactly failed via the vehicle inspection report. it would make solving your problem much easier. oh and just adjust the e-brakes!

I don't think you'll find a "sweetheart" shop on a public forum. Why would you ask someone to risk their inspection license and potentially their business?
If the car is throwing codes, autozone will clear them for free, but I don't know how long they will take to reappear. The ebrakes are an easy fix, get the thing up on stands and do it.

I work on my own vehicles. My car was tuned and the egr and air were deleted before i purchased it. I have had other odb2 cars tuned before where this was done properly and it showed on the odb2 printout. I just don't feel like paying again for another tune especially when my car is legal with working cats, brakes and etc. The E-brake is just a joke. Again I park on hills all the time in both cars without putting the car in gear to stop it from rolling. Just because someone says the car has to stop on the 1st click i have to waste my time? Also if you think that state inspection keeps cars safe for the road and the environment you are sadly mistaken. Most of these fools don't know the difference between a intake manifold and cold air intake let alone what is safe.

I have a scanner, The Inspection station will not Inspect your car if you are throwing a SES light. Glad to teach you something new so you wont waste your time at inspection!

i'm not saying they're perfect - no one is. i am just glad that they keep some of those cars off the road by failing them, you know, the one where the girl just puts gas in it and has no idea why the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor now when it use to be just fine...
i also didn't mean anything negative by my post. it seems to have skinned a nerve, though, by the way you replied. i'm just saying, if you can't keep your cars passing inspection, why do you have them? the bit about the corvette was that most guys i know who drive corvettes drive them because of the performance, and know quite a bit about them including how to adjust the parking brake so it gets by the idiot that is going to be inspecting your car.
not knowing is one thing; i can teach anyone willing to learn. laziness or "i don't care" attitude is a completely different story. i can't tell which one you are, but it seems like you're looking for an easy fix (buying a sticker) instead of putting in the work (fixing what needs to be fixed). if you truly care about yourself and your cars, they call it an emergency brake for a reason - some people actually use it in emergencies, then put in the work. why not get it done now while we have good weather, or would you rather do it when the temperature drops below 40*? it's your choice, but i like to take the easy road...
p.s. i second the rationale about not looking to a public message board for an illegal, and perhaps unsafe, way to get things done. why would a complete stranger risk his license and his shop...? good luck, though, whatever you decide to do.

You haven't taught me anyting.
I have a scanner too and mine will clear the codes and shut off the SES....if only temporarily.....So if the problem is intermittent and you adjust the e-brake, clear the codes, so the SES light goes out and go straight to inspection.....you just might sneak by......
If not, at least then you tried. If the SES light won't go out, then take it to a shop and have the codes deleted properly, I can't imagine it being as much as a full tune.
And the first ticket you get for driving on a failed sticker, this whole conversation goes right out the window, because the money you are trying to save will only go the DMV or you local municipality.
Good Luck

clearing codes resets the monitors. more than 2 monitors in a "not ready" status is a failure. this is why i asked what the piece of paper says you failed for.
