I hear you man, I'd pick my dog over one of my half brothers. I can't imagine what its going to be like when she really gets up there in age. :(

We had to put our dog down back in March, it sucks. But we have a great back yard and it was too quiet in the house so we got another dog from a rescue. You can't replace a pet, but I think it's worth it to get another since they can be so entertaining. Pets help reduce stress as well.

Sorry to hear that man, I've had my kitten for 4 months and I'd be crushed if I had to do that. I know it'll eventually happen(hopefully many many years down the road).
Keep your head up man, 19yrs is pretty damn old. What's wrong with her?

well my best friend is gone now! thanks for the kind words people. the poor thing had dwindled down to 3 1/2 lbs. this was such a hard thing to do but i know shes better off now. she had stopped going to the bathroom (#2) was nothing but skin and bones and could hardly stand.
we still have another cat thats healthy but she's 13 y/o and when her time comes thats it with pets for me. this crap hurts to much.
thanks again all:sad:

=( Sorry about your kitty..
You should go to the Humane Society and adopt one when you are ready, there's so many winners in there that need a home

I am really sorry to hear about your loss, I've been there many times. No other cat/s will replace the one you lost, but time heals wounds. I have 3 little guys looking for homes ( 2 long hair/ 1 short hair all grey calico all males). We rescued the mother and her 5 kittens ( I added 2 more to my growing collection) so I am looking for good homes for the 3 that are left.
Baddest, it's obvious you provide a good home and are an animal lover so if you'd like to pass some of that love on to a new generation, PM me and I'll meet you ( or anyone for that matter).
Again, sorry for your loss, but she isn't in pain any more.

Awww Bill, I'm so sorry you lost your buddy. I so know what you mean about loving a pet more than some family. I'd trade half my family for a nice cat or dog! I just lost my 15 yo siamese and my other cat, a 13 year old siamese, is going down hill too. Sad stuff losing a pet. Eventually thoughts of Gizmo will bring smiles but now's the time to cry. It's amazing how much love a pet can bring.
Hugs to ya Bill!

Sorry to hear :(. My mom had to put one of our cats down just about a month ago. Same thing had happened, she dwindled down to only about 5 lbs. It's so sad to lose a friend, but as hard as it is, the love they give you cannot be outweighed by the sadness. I know I will always have cats, my two currently are a couple of young clowns and I dread the day, probably 15+ years down the road that I will have to do that. Its ok to be a grown man crying, she meant the world to you.
