so i just picked up the ws6 as most of you know. and i dont know where to start modding it. im thinking headers and do more stuff to the intake, such as seal it off more, and get that aluminum piece that goes like by hood latch to give the air more velocity. eventually once it gets cammed  im gonna have a tune done. but are there any other mods i can do to it?

current mods are in sig

yeah i was looking at a pro 5.0 and a ws6 store short stick

A good tuning software package is where I would start, you're going to need some sort of tuning for any mod you do ie !egr, !air, !cags, cam, headers, etc.

Tune, Short-Throw (if its manual), Subframes, Cold Air Intake & Exhaust. Probably the top 5 beginner mods! Also I'm sure theirs a couple good free mods you can do as well.

I second the Pro-5.0 with Lous Short Stick. I've been running that for a few years now, I wouldn't change it for the world.

for cheap, get a ported tb, lca's. lid.

all can be had for about 100 bucks TB is pretty cheap.

then catback, then headers, and id save money for a 12 bolt or 9 inch if your gonna get cammed...

2000 t/a, M6, WS6-SLP LM, SLP LID, LS6 clutch, 1LE swaybars, BMR SFC's, Racetronix 255lph fuel pump

for those that can't read sigs. i would look at wheels and tires for spring. rear suspension components too.

Save your money, Get a set of pacesetter Long tubes, a cam, PRC dual valve springs, hardened push rods, and a Tune

Depending on the Cam 239/242, .649"/.609" Camshaft With Your Choice of Lobe Seperation (my choice of cam specs which is a heavy cam) with a nice tune people have been known to go in the mid to low 12s with a stock rear and drive the car daily.(best I saw was a 12.29 i believe)

But just my 2 cents, those cheap mods can come later and will come quicker

buy a rear first

You need those cheap mods to support the big boy mods. Whats the point of all that power if you can't even use it all. Have to start somewhere.

i have most of the basic mods, slp lid, exhaust blah blah as in my sig.

next i think is the shifter, and some lca's, i have pretty bad wheel hop. will a FAST 78mm tb work on a stock ls1 intake? i think i also wanna put some 28# injectors for now also, because the 2000's have the 26# in them.

and for appearance maybe a detail from jerseydevil ;)

You dont "need" them yes it would help to have them all done before hand but why waste money on the the tune when your just gonna get it dyno'd when your cam is put in... I say full exhaust first, then cam, and if you have the money an intake, all thats needed. Power programers are worthless to him if hes gonna cam it.

I say you do the shifter and full exhaust first with a tune. Next you could go with a ls6 intake and ported TB for some more power with a retune. Suspension pieces can then follow. All of these mods will support the car when you eventually want to put a new cam in the car. I would suggest a new clutch followed by a new rear after that. Have fun.

if it were my car, the first thing I would do to the car is SFC's

Suspension shoudl always be first. Chassis mount tourqe arm, LCA relo's, adjustable LCS'a, and adjustable panhard.

If it doesn't hook or handle you are just another supra driver in training, spinning your tires with all you mad leet dyno powa and losing to hondas.

wow.

ok, it's like any other car. more air in, more air out, == better performance. since you have the lid already, work on getting the air out. headers and a cat-back, should be first on the list.

then, since it's got the ws6 suspension (better than stock OEM) and the 1le anti-roll bars, that leaves the lower arms and pan hard rod. if you wanted to get exotic, you could put air bags in the rear instead of springs and shocks.

once you start to increase power inside the motor, you'll probably want to upgrade the trans (rated to what HP?) and rear (rated to what HP?) to be able to handle the new power instead of breaking things. but, i mean, how much power are you going to shoot for? is this the plaything and some other car will be your DD? if so, throw out the rule book and start upgrading parts. if it will be your DD, then you want a little more conservative tune to still be able to drive it on the street. that's not to say that you can't have 500 hp/lb ft in a DD and still be comfortable driving it.

figure out where you want to be.

start on the rear and work your way forward. set a goal for the car's future and slowly work towards it. this way you don't skip important parts and break stuff.

Since it already has most of the obvious mods, go for a ported TB(should be under $100 and makes a big difference in driveability), a good shifter, TB bypass(I don't think it makes a big difference), cut the EGR tube in the intake to allow more air through, check the plugs to see what's in there and maybe do plugs/wires. I have a set of 28lb injectors if you're interested, but you don't need them right now. When you get to the cam, then look at some decent stainless headers(LPP or XS), the Pacesetters will rust if you drive the car much at all, and then a tune. And start saving for a rear at that point in time. Oh yeah, get a trailer hitch!

i already have a cat-back for those who suggested that ;), anyway, after the shifter and some headers its gonna be full suspension i think, including moser 12 bolt...i have to wait till spring for the rear though thats the only thing. the rest i can piece together for now. and i think im also going to pick up a STB also

Whats funny is nearly EVERY mod thats been listed here other than suspension parts requires a tune.

LS6 intake on an 00 Vehicle that HAS egr requires a tune
Gears require a tune
Headers w/ no cats requires a tune
New rear(if it has different gears from stock) requires a tune
28lb injectors from your stock injectors requires a tune

Most of the small bolt on's mentioned lid, catback, & SFC's you already have which basically leaves the shifter, misc suspension parts, & a ported throttle body as about the only mods that aren't "free" mods that you can do without tuning.

My opinion may be considered biased but in all honesty anything that affects incoming or outgoing airflow should be compensated for via the pcm. If you ignor it you could face poor drivability, shifting issues, lean or rich conditions at wot and or part throttle, etc.

Just my .02

Shifter first, then LCAs and suspension parts. Worry about making more power once you can put it to the ground.

start with rear suspension and gears. Strange makes a nice 12-bolt piece that bots right in but get it 4 92 or earlier years, because the rear for those years is 3inches narrower than 4 93-up. adjustable torque arm set btween 2 1/2 and 3 degrees of pinion angle. Also air bags in the rear coil springs 10-12 psi left 5-7 psi right. also 4:10 gears, with the overdrive it is pretty streetable.
