Here is a question, if an LT1 car doesn't have a traction control button, is the car equipped with traction control? Or is it equipped and you just can't turn it off?

If it doesnt have a button, its not equipped.

i got TCS on my LT1. The SLP reverse switch is 97 and up. Sucks.

My LS1 has no TCS, but the wiring harness is still there under the console.

Nope, TCS is a 4 channel rear and otherwise its a three channel. But that part is easy to fix, just unplug it, I just can't find the cable that goes straight from the pedal to the TB.

Friggen sweet! but I can't delete TCS and still maintain ABS can I?

sweetbmxrider

Just getting ABS without TCS was possible, but would require more time and money plus - converting the computer from ABS/TCS to ABS only is expensive.

It was part of the Z rated package. I have it on my 95.

3 channel vs 4 channel? Technically yes due to a reluctor ring on the ring gear.

sweetbmxrider

yes but i wasn't sure if you could swap in a 3 channel and maybe wire it up to think it was 4? that would be bad. glad i am TCS free!

For me it makes launchs easier for now at least. With it off, you spin all the way through first, but if you have it on and launch at 2k ish you are fine.

sweetbmxrider
10-27-2008, 03:15 PM
it doesn't bog down to prevent the spin? and don't you need tires? if it works, awesome

LTb1ow
10-27-2008, 03:16 PM
It does bog down but only if you spin em real bad. And yes, I need new tires. Desperately.

sweetbmxrider

Once the horsepower is increased over stock, TCS is a PITA and definitely needs the SLP reverse switch for if you forget to turn it off, it will kill the car off the line.

You can tune out the stall wall.
