Jeep 4.0 with open exhaust sounds like ass. I ran out of time when I was installing my cat-back, so I had to put the Jeep back in the garage for the night with no muffler/tailpipe on it. It was obnoxious, and not in a good way. :) I was VERY happy to finish the install the next morning!

Oh you're so wrong my friend.....my 76 Plymouth with a slant 6 sounded pretty nice for a POS with a worn out engine and literally NO exhaust. Pipe between cat and exhaust rusted off and I yanked them....guts of the cat fell out. Sounded like NASCAR ;)

Slap a flowmaster 40 on a 4.0L Jeep Engine. You know what, clamp it on, because you will want to rip it off bare handed when you hear how bad it is.

it sounds great...it sounds awesome, theyre just struck with LsEnvy. theyre mad at our gas mileage and awesome technological designs which made their motors seem like outdated boat anchors with a toilet bowl for an injection system (gen1) and an ignition system stuck behind a forever leaking water pump (lt1) meanwhile our motors still run the same with 180k miles on them as they did brand new.

lol i just got the car not so long ago. ive been enjoying it for the summer in the stock form its in. over the winter its getting a full on treatment which will categorize my vehicle as 'nasty'. as for being fast it holds its own stock for stock with a lot of the newer cars that are out and its 10 years old. not bad for what i got it for.

I have always thought that flat tappet cams sound a lot better than rollers. Not the best for power or longevity but man do they sound good.

A DZ302 at 8500RPMs or a 427 at idle are my two favorites. LS1's have never come close. Even with cams and expensive exhaust parts.

I've rebuilt my LT1 twice, rebuilt my LS1 once and then grenaded it. I haven't had any problems with my custom LS7 yet. You guys need to move on with the LT1 vs LS1 debate. The Gen IV is where it's at. Although I do have a reliable LQ4 in the pickup.

Its not about which motor is better then any other, because at the end of the day whoever pours the most amount of money into anything will come out on top. Its about the obsurd claims of superiority without an ounce of fact.

LT1's also sound a lot like Gen1 sbc's since they have such similar heads and share the firing order, so I guess you think they all suck too?

You should really start reading up on things before you talk dude. You are making yourself look worse and worse every time you post.

i like my exhaust note, it scares women and children so it does its job.

the idle, or lack of a consistant one scares anyone who considers messing with me at stop lights, that actually dissapoints me.

and the exaust sounding like a nascar at highway speeds when passing or chasing makes sure no one tries to mess with me....

I think it's because a quality rear axle has a price tag higher than most people can deal with when they start modding. However I am confused about the people who can afford it but still go with power parts.

A102806 APPLICATION: Fits 1993-newer Camaro and Trans Am W/4-Channel ABS 10 Bolt Chevy rear 28 spline, 32" Long Diag. $290 Pair

I'm not telling everyone to upgrade their rear, I am just saying to all the people who say it or write it in their sigs. "13.1 but I was spinning" or "12.2, it would have been an 11 but I didn't want to break anything" < those are just fake examples
Whatever your slip says is how fast you went, END OF STORY. It is expensive to do all these mods, but don't complain about the fact that it could be faster if this or if that.
I don't have a lot of money but I took my time and did it right. I can go to the track everyday if I wanted and know that I have the slimmest chance of breaking a part because I put the best parts I could in it. No one can promise their car will stay together, the faster you go the more likely you will break something, but thats all part of the game.

All kidding aside though, I agree, if you're into dragging your car, put some parts in so that you don't have to read The Bible everytime you make a single pass on the car. Those excuses aren't far from what you might hear though...

iirc your ls1 also has headers ls6 intake and a stall convertor. its a 10 year old car, stock except for the exhaust and it run 13.5's with a 2.2 60 ft and a 105 trap speed. if i wanted to i can shock the rpms against the convertor at launch and bang out a lower time.....3 tenths just arent that important to me with a stock car. i still have all my egr/air/ac/toolbox and my jack and spare when i ran it. :moon:

I have a whatever stock converter that came with the car. I have my AC and air system too.

And you have a lid and exhuast. Whatever. Car won't be nasty... with your "low milage" car and all.
