Has anyone heard who is going to be in the 2009 issue as of yet. It was supposed to be emailed to the people who made it about two weeks ago!

AHHHHHHH, I should guess by their silence it should come as NO surprise that I didn't quite make again this year.

I'm not gonna lie but unless the pics themselves weren't good Ed's car is pretty damn ridiculous. When I saw it in person I was highly impressed. It's probably safe to say it's even nicer than mine.

The comment was not to say I DESERVED TO BE IN IT, just kidding about how I guessed by not hearing anything that I DIDN'T QUITE make it again. We might ALL want to be picked, but it is what appeals to others and not our call. CHILL!

I know last year the pics he sent were not usable (size, etc) maybe that happened again.

Yes, as much as I love Ed's car, the submitted pics were no where near large enough to use in the calendar (IIRC, they were the same pics as submitted previously). We state the requirements very clearly, and we can't help it if pictures are submitted that don't meet the requirements.

I have to say that NOT being the computer wiz that 90% of most of you are, I have no idea what PIXAL size or photo size I need to send in. I have sent in a few pictures for car of the month and they look fine on the thread. If over the past two years the pictures that I have submitted are not the size you are looking for, it would be a GREAT HELP if someone on the judging staff would let me know. To say that my picture(one)was not judged because it was the wrong size does not help me if I DON'T KNOW IT WAS NOT LARGE ENOUGH FOR YOU or I would have used a format that would be acceptable for you to consider. Also when I say another format, I would need the HELP of one of the members like aRock that has the knowledge on HOW to enlarge a photo for me! This is not a sour grapes or crying thread, just if you find(in the future)that a members picture is something you would consider but is the wrong size, let them know ahead of time so that it can be resubmitted in time. I know I had sent in my entree just a few days after the contest was started, but never knew it was in the garbage can because of the size problem. Just my :2cents:

Pictures not picked as features do not get "trash canned". The pictures submitted, along with pictures collected from club meets and the Nats, get used for the inset spaces where the extra days slots are each month.

Going forward, we will make an effort to let members know right away if the pictures submitted do not meet the criteria for one reason or another.

since you brought up aroc's name.........perhaps if you supported him as a sponsor and did a photo shoot, or came to the nats where he took hundreds of pics, there would be a picture of your car that fit the criteria. i have no clue about picture sizes or even the criteria, thats why alex is there to take care of these things, its part of what you pay for

Since you are always looking on the negative side of my threads, what the hell does my buying pictures from arOck have to do with my question. Maybe I don't have the time or money to invest in his work, does that say that I DON'T SUPPORT HIM! That's PLAIN BS! If I don't go to the Nationals(like I did LAST year)because there was a good chance of strong T-storms or rain, that makes me a stupid person for not having my car there so that he can take a picture of it. If ALEX is on this site to TAKE CARE OF THESE THINGS, WHAT THE HELL AM I PAYING FOR. I didn't know that if you belong to this site, you have to PAY FOR SOMETHING! I have a NJFBOA sticker on my rear window, I try to help with Posts if questions are brought up, and I try NOT TO ANTAGONIZE members with statements such as you make! :-x

no, all i said is buying a photo shoot, or having him shoot the car at the nats, would ensure proper sized pictures for the calender you seem to care so much about

and i dont really "always look on the negative side of your threads", i think this is the first of your threads i have posted in

pretty much you need a better camera or a friend with a nice camera. enlarging your current photos would ruin the quality. i understand where you are coming from though.

As stated before, we dropped the ball when collecting the pics on this I think. Going forward, if pics do not meet the requirements when submitted, we will be sure to contact the member with the specifics of what prevents the pictures from working for our needs.

I am not a photography expert by any means, the best understanding I have is that the calendars are printed at such a high quality that the pictures submitted must meet a rather high standard. The camera used doesn't have to be the latest or most expensive, but my Kodak Easy Share certainly won't make the grade either. I know that is a rather broad explanation, but that is my understanding.

I know that not everyone is a computer or digital photography expert, and that is why we included the part about the megapixel requirements of the camera you use to take the pics. The vast majority (if not all) digital cameras have their megapixel ratings printed right on the body of the camera. I also described in the thread how to check your pictures to see if they were large enough.

I also answered every person who asked whether or not their pictures were large enough, and worked with them to get the best pictures as possible. I did not "chase after" people who submitted pictures that were not up to the size requirements because many people submit pictures only to be used as filler.

Am I missing something? It states the size right in the first post.

Ed is saying that he doesn't know how to find out what size his pics are, but I also explained how to do that in that thread.
