.... because THEN the tranny really woulda went. And it wouldn't have pooped out in the middle of nowhere.

I left the meet today, and the car was acting as bad as normal. Hopped on 46 or whatever that **** was. I was going up a hill and noticed I was barely staying at 50 (which, might I add, took about 2 mins to achieve). Whatever. Down the hill got to 55ish. Keep in mind I'm trying to accelerate and I thought maybe I was, but it was really just the hill. Next hill, I was getting nothing, it was like I was in neutral. I barely crept up the hill getting down to less than 30. Took the first exit which put me in Clifton or Nutley who the hell knows. Basically I came to a stop, put it in first, hand didn't move off 0. Put it in first and dropped the clutch, nothing. Luckily some guy came and pushed me into a parking lot. Keep in mind, my phone assed out. The guy let me borrow his for a minute, I called my boyfriend and he said to check the clutch juice reservoir Looked in there, almost empty. So he says go to somewhere and buy brake fluid and fill it in. I walked about 1/2 mile to target and bought that and was looking for a charger your phone super quick thing but they didn't have it (nor did Staples). That was okay cuz I got kinda optimistic because the reservoir was empty so I figured damn, just fill that **** in and you will get home. Ha. I run back to my car cuz cops are in the lot flashlighting it, they tell me I can leave it til I get a way to get it home (which means tonight). So I walk to CVS hoping they have something to charge my phone. Nope. I call my bf from there again and ask what to do and oh man he's lucky he wasn't with me cuz I woulda punched him. In the end, he had no clue. "Take the bus". Yeah. From Nutley. Well turns out there is a bus. I took the bus to the Newark Lightrail station. Took the lightrail to Penn Station. Took the bus from Penn to Journal Square in JC. I got off the bus in Journal Square and GUESS WHAT?! Some jackass decided it had to rain. So I am walking in a downpour on Bergen Ave waiting for a bus but still walking because I'm cold. I wind up only taking the bus about 2 miles out of 5 1/2 because the busses run slow at this time.

The reason I say I shoulda dynoed is because I am sure 90% of you guys have AAA.

Needless to say, props to Justin for remembering to bring my sweater because that thing absorbs water better than a sponge, between that and my aeropostale sweater, I stayed dry.

After all that, I end the day being randomly called a dingdong by Bubba. Thanks, Bubba.

That sucks....it was pretty easy to tell that it was not right when you were at the meet

Glad the hoodie helped keep you dry!

I know AAA platinum is somewhere around 100 a year(haggle with them to get that but its easy) and you get 4 free tows for your car or any car your in that brakes down up to 100 miles in state. GIVE THEM A CALL NOW

SO.

I went back out to my car with my boyfriend and a borrowed car. We tied it to the toyota I took from my dad and attempted to make it home, but the rope snapped. At 11:45. Luckily it was in the big shopping plaza out there and Stop and Shop was open. We wound up buying the only thing remotely like a rope they had which was those dog leashes u use to tie your dog outside. Hooked the cars back together and got ALL the way to Lyndhurst whennnnnnn a cop decided to intervene. Luckily he wasn't a jerk and just told me I can't do what I'm doing. Since my dad's license is suspended and the bf doesn't have one (he was steering the Saturn) I decided it was best just to push it into a parking spot on the street. Jeff from the board came out and is gonna have his uncle check it out for me.

we used to use rope going 55 mph on the highway. Trick is to not leave enough room that someone tries to merge in between to two.

Losing the clutch sucks..... especially if that motor trans set up is like my cavialier........ BIG JOB!!!!!!!!

in the transverse mounted engine set up you got to basically pull the whole front end of the car apart.
Book hours to do my clutch (what a mechanic gets paid to do it) is about 9 hours

HEY. It was 11:45 and nothing but Stop&Shop was open. I looked for clothes line (that is what we always use, but the line gave out after towing like 6 cars lol) but they only had twine. TWINE. I tell the guy I am towing a car, he shows me twine.

But yeah it was that or nothing so...

AARP? The American Association of Retired Persons? How are they going to help you? Electric scooters don't make a lot of torque.

I think, beyond a tow strap, you need to get a few phone numbers from folks in the club so you can call them instead of the non-driving boyfriend, when you need help.

And tell lame-o BF to go get his drivers license anyway, whether he drives or not. Photo ID is important in many ways.

aarp...oh boy lol, u meant AAA. and AAA in addition to roadside assistance, gets you discounts all over. heck at the local hampton bay inn, i got more of a discount with AAA than i did with my military ID.

towing with a tow strap is still illegal

He can't, he doesn't have 6 points, otherwise he would get it. And I have some numbers, but my phone died. As much as I love you guys I don't have the capacity to memorize your guys numbers lmao

I have to get AARP. My dad is an old fart and since he is paying (and it's cheaper) I have no choice.

My father is service manager at a saturn store, I get a discount of you decide to go with OEM clutch I can see what his price is. Im thinking aftermarket will be cheaper though.

not illegal, undocumented. but oddly not illegal. he is waiting for the green card to come, but until then he is undocumented.
