ok, im trying to see where i would be able to find a siamese kitten, and im talking a real siamese, long face, weird ears etc.

i think its safe to assume your average animal shelter or pet adoption place would not have one.

What are other RELIABLE sources? i know i could try craigslist, but i dont know... i dont think id be very trusting. I wanna make sure the kitten is healthy and had its first shots. It would be a christmas present so i have like a month to figure this out. Ans also, yes i know they arent cheap. i saw an ad in a local classifieds here for 2 and at 250 each. but once again, classfieds... i dunno. Any one know any known places./businesses? lol

Try petsmart? I believe they are just allowing the SPCA to use some of their store to show animals for adaption.

X 2 above. That's where my wife got a cat from, ran her like $50.

You can check the website for your local SPCA or visit and talk to them about what you're looking for. You might not find them as they're usually sought after. Especially your, crossed blue eyes, long dark face males. I have a non crossed blue, round dark face male I was given that came from NY and was a 'stray' that someone picked up and took to a vet, them found a home (me).

Worth it to spend the money, because they're really an educated cat. Mine is 'lap trained' and would prolly come over and whine if he couldn't lay in your lap....lol. My youngest just plays with him like he's a toy sometimes. Just make sure you get a male fixed....they get pissed off and your stuff gets pissed on....

EDIT - added Simon....he just woke up ;)

petfinder.com is a good site. my question, why specifically siamese? you can get cats for free.

grab a cat magazine. there are some cool breads out there that look like tigers and crap. but probably the safest/most expensive way to go. most have websites too for you to browse their "inventory."

ok i did a search and found several ny/nj/pa siamese breeders. i didnt even know there were different types of siamese... lilac point, seal, blue point, traditional...

anyways, prices seem to be 500-600. and all come with first shots, lukemia and hiv test results(negative of course), CFA and TCA certified(not a clue what thats is,) along with all paperwork. also with papers showing parents werent related(line breeding). some breeders state they wont ship, and i think thats great, who the hell would ever ship a little kitten, thats cruel. if i got one, i'd go and pick it up in person.

next weekend ill probably call one or 2 of the places and talk to them.

and... look at these little guys... lol...

I have always liked Siamese....my grandparents used to breed them, but stopped many years ago.

My parents just got a Siamese mix, but I guess her littermates won't help you if you are looking for a purebred.

I agree with Melissa, definitely give petfinder.com a try, and also try your local shelters. Most people are surprised, but there's a very high percentage of pure breed animals in shelters and rescues. Especially now in this crappy economy, many people in financial distress who can no longer afford their pets are either dropping them off at shelters (in record numbers) or just letting them go.
