well, some of you may have heard, but probably no one, that the Army has changed its slogan just recently.

You may all remember "Be all you can be..." wasnt too bad..

then came "Army of one"... well that only lasted a short time, kinda because "of one" isnt really the army way, its all about workign together as a unit, and being there for everyone.

So next came "Army Strong".. thats the motto i enlisted under. They would use it like "theres strong, and then there's Army Strong". This one we liked, it worked and said a little more about what we require, we are just a little more.

Now the kicker.. the new one is "Army Strong - Strength like no other"... we heard about it yesterday and it is the most stupid yet. The guys here dont think itll last that long. Strenght like no other... no other what... car? tree? yes they mean army but come on now... Honestly though, when even soldiers think the motto sucks... it seems the people making these things up need to get a more varied opinion prior to releasing it. just makes me laugh, that is all.

The new slogan should be.. "Just get laid off from your job? Wanna go kill some people?.."

Most of then are arrogant pricks too. They were one of our clients at my last job and before I became an appraiser I was taking their damage claims. A lot of them demanded to be called Sergeant and any other title they had. Whatever, you're not an officer noob. :D

Now that's just a bunch of horse crap. :moon:

I've worked with people from EVERY branch of service (to include the Coast Guard) and we all got along great. We ribbed each other time and time again til it hurt and kept on going. But it was all making fun. When the shi+ hits the fan, we're all there to watch each others backs. At least that's how its always been with me. And I joke my former Navy buddies time and time again and they throw it back at me and we all have a good time.

We talk the most crap because we usually end up doing MORE with LESS....smallest budget, most 'bang for the buck'. President's Own. Even Clinton, and now Obama. Its the 'office' we respect, not particularily the person (for my own 2 cents on that).

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone that's spent 2 years in any branch other than the Marines that knows as much about their 'military history'. Rich with traditions hundreds of years old (just had another birthday 8 days ago ).

All in all....you join whom you think is going to benefit you and you them. Personally, I wish I had stayed my ass in.....at this point in time, I'd have less than 2 years til I could retire....:rollseye:

That's exactly how it's bee the passed 12 years I've been in the AF. We ALL bust on each other, but always back each other up. Everyone has jokes for the other branches. It's a brotherhood though. I'm happy I enlisted and proud to be in the military. I'm a better person because of it. :)

haha, like rscamaro said its all fun and games. we dont look down upon anyone unless they deserve it. like a LOT of new army recruits and their supposed "boot camp" they go to. we frown upon them until they earn their place. but its like anything else, we have new joins to my unit all the time that have to earn their place, their respect, and they have to earn our trust.

but like said before, when the **** hits the fan, we are all there for each other.

the real rivalry is not the army vs. the marines... it's Navy SEALs versus the marines.

B.P.R.D. PWNS all N00Bs!

I agree that that new slogan is bull. Strength like no other. Navy is pretty strong, so are The Marines, and Air Force, and Coast Guard. Army Strong was good. Less is more in this case.

SEALs vs Marines, SEALs win hands down. SEALs vs Force Recon Marines, thats a bit closer but I'd have to give it to the SEALs

i dunno, Recon dudes are a bunch of crazy bastards. seals are a LITTLE more specialized when it comes to operations. I worked with a lot of Recon guys and most are cool as ****.

now on the other hand, put Force Rec against some Spetznaz, NOW you have a good fight.
