Alright, today is the day. Everything is fixed and its time for me to go to inspection for the 87. 3 years and 3 months overdue, its time to get it done!
My concerns are
1) engine of course
2) ebrake
3) other
Now I have done preflight inspections, and everything is so far good. I will remove all dangling and hanging things in my car, horn works.
With the cam, lack of egr and AIR, Im hoping that it will be good still.
The ebrake comes up high, but holds the car.
And then there is always the random off the wall one.
So...whats it gunna be?

Why don't you tighten up your e-brake? fairly simple to do, but is a little time consuming if you don't have a ratcheting box wrench.

E-brake is a two minute fix. Take care of it and you will be fine.

This would also be the first time I have had to inspect a car in 5 years.
The 87 has always passed without problems.
If I need to adjust it, I will.

the inspection station around my area all hate on older cars. No matter what good condition your ride is in, they fail it for something.. i brought my brothers older firebird threw once and thought for sure it was going to fly right threw...wrongggg.. It failed bc a bolt on the seat was loose and the seat moved a little.. you believe that ******! but good luck with yours!!

Drum roll please.......
FAILED! Apparently I didnt put my new insurance card in, and the ones I had expired YESTERDAY!!
Passed emissions with flying colors.
1146 on the NOx, which was the standard
HC's and CO% was still way low. But yeah, looked all over my new place, looked over my fathers...cant find it. And I cant find the ones for the Caprice either!! I called Esurance, and they said they mailed it on the 6th of October....so thats smack dab in the middle of moving. NO idea where it is. So they are on order.

I did look through the center console and found all my time slips from years ago, as well as gas recepts from Sunoco that was as low as 1.69 for 93 Octane.
I also looked through 21 years of recepts of every single thing that was replaced on the car. I have my collection in my garage showing recepts from all the parts and services that I have done. Even has the sales recept from when my father purchased it from Connor Chevy.
I was very impressed with the car passing.
So I should be getting the card sometime this weekend...damn Thanksgiving.
Edit: Yes Scott, you can, and I did print it up thinking that it was good to use. Problem is, there is a big header that says "CANNOT USE FOR STATE INSPECTION"
I stopped right there. I can use it so the police dont throw me a ticket, but they will see that and send me on my way...again.

I was rooting for you...trust me I was but I voted for failing for something else. I only knew this would happen because the inspection station is a joke and they love finding little things wrong. At least what you need to pass is cake so you don't need to spend any $$ to get it through.

State inspection won't accept printed copies. Same thing happened to me once. You have to have the official card that's from the ins company.

I failed once because a spring in my seat stabbed the DMV guy. LOL. I always wondered how that hole got in that seat, I guess he got in just right.
Good deal Al. Old stickers usually bring the extra close inspection glasses out.
