though the story is most likely bs, electric fences work kind of like a capacitor, when you touch it you get creamed with a very very high voltage spike, usually once and are jolted off if it, ive managed to do this a couple times to my self, it hurts real bad, especially if you happen to be standing in water/mud....

Yea, I made that mistake, once. When I was younger I was out in Colorado and came upon a large fence. I didnt know it was electrified until I grabbed it to climb over it. After you fall down in the snow writhing in agony and your arm is flopping around like a beheaded chicken, you kinda giggle to yourself, just a little

probably 2 years ago now, i was doning a job at a barn, late fall and it was muddy as hell, installing outlets outside for the animals water trough heaters, i walked over to a post where i needed to finish one and it was a wooden fence with a 2" wide white plastic woven tape looking thing running around the top of the fence, i thought nothing of it for some reason. I had some materials in hand, including a metal can of PVC glue. I went to place the can of glue on top of the fence, kinda trying to balance it on the wood and the "tape" looking thing....
All i remember after that was sitting on the ground, in the mud, head spinning, legs still shaking a bit, and feeling like i was just kicked in the chest by a horse. Not a pleasant experience.

Keep in mind the charger is about the size of a marine battery and has a picture of an upside down cow on fire on the cover.
