ok guys... i have gotten through the last 3 months of public speaking and i am finally down to the last speech of the semester... i need a good topic that i can talk about for 8-10 minutes and something i can include visuals with... any ideas?

whatever you do dont do something like global warming or aids, everyone does that and it gets annoying by now.

the best advice i can give is do something you know you want to research and when you present it all the info will come off the top of your head.

haha yeah im staying away from time sensitive speeches now... the first speech of the semester i did on the bailout plan and then minutes before i was supposed to give my speech i took a look at cnbc on my phone and they already shot down the first plan... so i had to rewrite a whole new speech

I agree with doing something that interests you. I'm sure you can come up with many topics.

And no joke on the porn topic. I gave a speech freshman year of college on the availability of porn on the internet, visuals and all. Professor was female and she LOVED it. Got an A in that class.

I went on for 8-10 minutes in my speech class about the origins and history of the Small Block Chevy. Got deer in headlights from everyone in class, but she stressed doing it on something that interested me. If it's something that interests you, 8-10 minutes will FLY by, just my opinion...

I have to give a 3-4 minute informative speech next wednesday, I chose Pearl Harbor, because JM and I visited the memorial when we were in Hawaii over the summer. If I was in your shoes and it was emphasized to pick a topic of my interest I would totally do something car related. I thought of explaining how an engine works and go into the basics but I think everyone including the teacher wouldn't care and my grade would suffer.

Do something your familiar, when I took it a few years ago I did it on photo development with a short slide of the step by step process. Since I worked in a lab it made things very easy.

Pick something you enjoy. This way you'll be fine talking about it, won't need your notes, and you'll do well.

If I could, I always related things to my job at the time, or my current job. Since I"m involved in the information, I find I don't need to prepare much, except for the slides.

These are topics I'd do if I had to do a speech right now:
The current state of education in the US.
Current research on Autism. (or some other disorder that might interest you).
The health care system (US compared to others?)

I"m sure there are others. I'm drawing a blank now though.

im a big supporter of it, there are plenty of legal things that have far worse problems associated with it, whereas testosterone enhancement is one of the safest/healthiest things out there, especially in the medical field
