google maps lately?

i was bored and went on google maps, am i just a n00b or is that street view thing new? type in any address you want to see and you get a view literally like you have a view from the street. its kind of freaky.

As said, its been around for awhile now and its not available everwhere yet. It most likely won't work on side streets of a small to regular sized town.

they need to update it lol i went on 3 years ago and they had my old scarab offshore race boat in my driveway. we sold that like 6 years ago and now when i look at it they have my baja outlaw offshore boat in the driveway but we sold that 2 summers ago. its still fun to look around though.

They actually purchase them through different vendors and governments depending on when and what is available. For instance the whole state of NJ was just flown again in 2007 and I just got it delivered to me. They are basically updated on an as needed basis or if there is a specific purchase.

haha they also added boating routes which I though was pretty cool. If you look at the Statue of Liberty you can see all the shipping lanes for commercial boats and the scenic tours.

I have seen the google car before last time I was in NYC.

try google earth in directX mode (if your graphics processor can handle it). much better than google maps, with the ability to sit on the ground and look around you at the buildings or whatever is there...

Its actually the exact same photos used in both but with the 3D ability.
