Greasy food always help, always a good way to end a night. Just replenish what you throw up with food & water.

McAspirin :)

Quarter pounder w/cheese, fries & a soda always helped me. But Red Bull would be a quality improvement to diet coke.

When i was up in no mans land in new york, after a night of beer drinking cutting down trees and **** and just plain working is the best. Sweating it out makes you feel awesome.

First off, re-hydrate yourself. That means water, gatorade, and green tea works great too. Throwing up is good, but make sure you fill the space back up with liquid.
Second, eat something as stated before. This will slow the rate that the alcohol absorbs in your stomach.
Third, take two aspirin. Although not the best thing for your stomach in the long term, it will help your headache quickly.
Fourth, Rest unless you feel decent.
Fifth, if your head still feels like its attached to your body, move around. A good work that gets the heart racing brings more oxygen into the body. The more oxygen, the faster you oxidize the alcohol in you liver and get it out of your body.

A hangover is actually two different things. Its your body going through alcohol withdrawal and dehydration.

 i still cant drink vodka. From about a year and a half ago. The smell makes me feel sick. I never threw up, but I was REALLY hung over. We partied all night, went to bed at like 4am, got up at 7 to go paintballing. Needless to say no one played well until after lunch.

SupermanX24

tried to get something in my stomach this morning. Seemed like nothing could stay down. Even plain water. Finally I had just rinsed out my mouth took a sip of water, and fell asleep for a few hours. Woke up feeling a little better, had me some chicken noodle soup and so far so good.

that makes absolutely no sense

rest and water are pretty much the only things that help. Some recommend vitamin B in addition.

Actually, it works. Its not healthy though. Its call the 'hair of the dog'. Whatever bites you, you bite back. The alcohol shot cures the withdrawal symptoms, while the pepto helps your stomach.
Man I wish they offered an Alcohol Science major here. I'd be Deans list all four years.

This would be mostly true if you still had alcohol in your stomach. He was asking about a HANGOVER. A hangover is your brains way of screaming at you telling you your body is very low on water and electrolytes.

I find the best way to prevent a hangover (provided you havent gotten to the point of puking a lot) is to drink as much water (hangover jiuce also works here, gatorade) as you can before going to sleep. I learned that one from an alcoholic and it has always worked for me.
Any of the other things people have said about food should help to a certian extent and the more alcohol is not the best remedy but from what I understand it helps with the symptoms.
Another way I prevent getting drunk in the first place is to make sure I have had plent of food during the day so your metabolism is constand and it also helps slow the progression of the alcohol into the blood.

odds are you won't just puke a single time... so just eat food and drink fluids when the hell ever. your body will let you know if it doesn't like it hahaha

well when i wake up after drinking, i want to hydrate and eat, then take a huge dump. so something ties in there with hangovers. but i agree that the headache is from severe dehydration. you gotta chug water and piss alot.

The greasy food is a preventative measure, even if it's while you're drinking.. the gatorade is for during/after puking i guess

i feel this way about southern comfort. even jack daniels sometimes make me dry heave.

as to the OP, it's been said many times, but some people still don't know that water and time are the only ways to get rid of the alcohol. sometimes you get so dehydrated that water in your stomach makes you feel drunk again. that in itself might make you ralph again, so make sure to replenish any water you boot. just keep drinking water and/or gatorade (as soon as your stomach can handle it - not all people can drink gatorade immediately, and might earl it all up which is a waste of gatorade) then eat as soon as you think you won't chuck it.

when someone looked green enough to vomit, we used to make dry heave noises like "Earl, raaaalph, boooot, chuck, chuck". it's funny seeing their reaction, especially if it ends with them throwing up.

Maybe not asparin but ibuprofen (Advil) or naproxen sodium (Aleve) will certainly do it.

lol i believe by this point, the alcohol has already been absorbed into the bloodstream, its a bit late for slowing the rate in which it the alcohol is absorbed.

best cure for next time---

dont be a hero and drink so much!! your liver will thank you

Depends on how much you drank.
