So my mom had really bad chest pain, trouble breathing and sweating yesterday. So last night I took her to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Hamilton at 6:10 last night. If you look at her symptoms, someone but think heart attack. They took her back for an EKG, chest x-ray and blood work at 6:45. She finally gets a room in the ER at 9:45. At 11:15, still no doctor so we decide to leave. They talk her into staying, get the doctor right in and they tell her she has an abnormal EKG so they want her to stay the night.....DUH!! She just texted me 10 mins ago and they had JUST gotten a room. RIDICULOUS.......so in closing.....DO NOT GO TO RWJUHH!!!!

ive never had a problem with robert wood and have always been seen swiftly and promptly.

having a chest xray, blood work and ekg done within 30 minutes is a lot better than your going to get at St Francis.

...i.e i was rushed to the hospital once (st fracis) BY AMBULANCE with a BLEEDING HEAD WOUND and sat there for 2 hours before even seeing triage.

beings that she was already at the hospital with her workups done and completed id say she was taken care of well. if her symptoms worsen its not like she had to go far to get help.

I woulda had no problem with the wait, but they didn't bother to look at her results till 11 which was 5 hours after they took the tests. Plus at wobert wood, they have a rule that u are seen by a nurse in 10 mins and a doctor in 20 mins. Hence the reason a lot of people go there.

Thanks guys for the concern. Well the recent news is that she didn't have a heart attack but they think she might have a blood clot in her heart, so they did an ultrasound and some tests and their waiting for the results of that.

Well lets see, my mom has had the following conditions that put her in the hospital since the time I was in high school till now : breast cancer, brain aneuryism burst (6 months in the hospital) blood poisioning, gall stones, lung cancer, she had a lobectomy, bone cancer and now this heart condition. I've basically LIVED in the hospital for the last 11 years. But you know what they say, "only the good die young" so my mom will be around forever lol

my grandfather was being treated there for several different cancers and they were giving him chemotherapy and our family thinks that they gave him the last dose of chemo as a wrong amount or something. he had weeks and weeks of treatment before and the last one seemed to make him really sick. my best friends mother got sick several times from being in robert wood at hamilton as well. i have family and friends who have had many issues with robert wood.

but either way, best wishes

Yes I'm a girl lol I went there a couple of years ago when I fell in college and hurt my ankle. They x-rayed it and told me I had a broken ankle and they splinted it up and had crutches and couldn't walk on it till I got a walking cast. Next day I went to the orthopedic surgeon and he looked at the x-ray and was like "you only have a sprain, that bone they said that was broken is just a floating bone in your ankle" and I was like WTF!!! So far she's doing good. No exact word on what's wrong with her yet. I think she's just happy to be outta work lol
