View Full Version : GSP Replica Signs
Is there a store where I can purchase a replica metal Garden State Parkway sign? I'd like to throw one up in my new apartment here in North Dakota. A NJ Turnpike and Route 1 sign would be cool as well.

If you look around they "fall down" all the time. ;)
I am sure a friend can find you one
Lol, this is my last ditch effort before resorting to more direct means.

Too many sparks....one might think one might be able to knock a sign down with a truck, throw the sign, post and all, in the back of said truck and take it home for later disassembly. If one was so disposed to such as act. Needless to say I would not condone such activities.

Theoretically speaking, one may be able to cut flats into the nut and bolt head (if necessary) so that they will accept normal tools and that will not create too many sparks.

24 volt impact actually goes quicker. Even if they don't come loose, the bolts break. only takes a few seconds :)

Depends if you can keep the back side from spinning since they are breakaway nuts.

When I hung signs these are what we got:

The nut breaks off at a set torque limit, and then it's done. Only the cone is left. Too hard for a vice grip to dig into and too tapered to grab entirely.

pff battery power sawzall. duh. i saw a no pedestrian crossing sign and it has use cross walk attached to it. might make that disappear. there is a GSP sign in front of my work. i always wanted to take it. plenty of tools too.
Well I was under the impression the signs were just bolted on with normal bolts. This is an unfortunate turn of events. :(
Ian, I'm basically volunteering in a poverty fighting capacity. I wanted to do something crazy and possibly fulfilling before I accumulated responsibilities. I think I may have went too far north though. I mean really, warm right now is higher than -10.

"Griffin Signs" in Palmrya, NJ is whom my company deals with for DOT signs. They actually do most of all the road signs in NJ.
Don't know exactly how much they cost, but thats a legit way f getting one.

Thanks, I just cannot find any reproduction places! I gave them a call but the sales guy was gone. I'll have to try them tomorrow, though I'll admit I'm afraid they are going to quote me at like $70.

The fact that you are most likely right would make me feel guilty taking one, especially since I'm not paying NJ taxes this year.

Well that would crazy lucky. I'll be traveling for a good portion of the day tomorrow but let me know what you find: TP or GSP. :)
