But, should I be worried that the doctor said he had extra parts when he was done??:lol:

So, it happened on December 16th so its been just a bit over 2 weeks.

They went in through the front of my neck, moved my larenx over, removed the ruptured disc, put a cedaver bone in its place, put a metal plate in that stretched from my C6 to C7 vertabrea, put 4 screws in and sewed me up.

I went home that night - maybe 5 or 6 pm?

First couple days were ROUGH!!!! I maybe saw 2 hrs of sleep and it was in a sitting position only.

I now have all the bandages and stitches out - yay!

I still am unable to sleep in a bed - I have to sleep on the couch propped up at an incline.

I am slowly wearing my neck brace less - still wear it for sleep and stuff - I'm only suppoed to take it off for when I watch tv.

I'm getting better but I'm bored at home - I want to go back to work.... kinda. I sooooo want to go for a drive but I'm not allowed to for a while. Right now, minor drives are torture.

But one thing is nagging me...... all my other surgeries were weight reduction..... this one was weight addition - sigh

Goal for 2009 - NOT get hurt! ESPECIALLY NO SURGERY!!

Hope this works out. Sorry to hear of the pains.....I messed up my back (no surgery).....so I can appreciate the 'wanting to be pain free'.....
