I'm gonna say....Giants 27 Philly 17
I'm hoping the Giants crush them. If I have to make a prediction I'll go with 42-17 Giants.

I'm a die hard Giants fan, but this is going to be a good one no blow outs today. Kinda feel like winner of this game goes to the super bowl

giants - 23

Wow, Eagles defense playing dirty already! Several helmet first spearings by Dawkins and Mikel with some chop blocks below the knees! And the refs won't throw a flag, it figures. This game will get ugly if they allow it to continue.
baddest434
01-11-2009, 12:53 PM
there should have been 3-4 personal foul calls already and not 1 called
yep this could get ugly
JL8Jeff
01-11-2009, 01:23 PM
It seems to have settled down so that's a good sign. The refs made a couple of lousy blocking in the back calls on each team after punts.

Lots of people going down. I don't think it will be "who wins" as much as "who survives". Cold weather and the Meadowlands notorious hard turf, lots of guys are gonna be going home banged up tonight.

01-11-2009, 02:45 PM
Well the Giants are playing like ****, well it's more Eli. Oh and they can't make a field goal for their lives. I think the Eagles touchdown just won them the game.
JL8Jeff
01-11-2009, 02:45 PM
Both teams look lousy, it will be very similar to the Titans/Ravens game. Nobody looks like a serious contender for the SuperBowl this year so it's a toss up.

Giants better blow
they did:rofl:
giants would have had a better SHOT if plaxico was playin
JL8Jeff
01-11-2009, 03:21 PM
Plaxico has nothing to do with it. Bad play calling and missed FG's were the real culprit. Giants definitely did not deserve to win this game. Eli fell back into his desperation mode which is a bad way to play. Giants didn't stick with the run long enough and telegraphed the passing plays big time. My dog even knew when to blitz!
NJSPEEDER
01-11-2009, 03:27 PM
The Giants defense did a good job, but they were painted into a corner. The Eagles only had one big play the whole game but kept getting the ball in great field position.
The Giants offense was the big let down for them today. The running game fell apart and they became predictable.
baddest434
01-11-2009, 03:27 PM
Plaxico has nothing to do with it.
you don't think he would have been helpful to the team?
eli did suck!!
and your dog knowing when to blitz was a great one:rofl:

I would also like to send a big congrats to Donovan McNabb for proving that his stupid knows no bounds by trying to be funny and changing a 3 and 1 into a 3 and 16 while still in their own end of the field.

You know, I had a theory last year that some time late November, that Eli was walking around the beach, and found a lamp. He picked it up, and rubbed the lamp. Out came a big Geine and granted him one wish, but that the wish would only last one year.
So he asked if he could switch and have his brothers talent.
And sure enough, Peyton blew it last year and Eli turned into a real quarterback after all season people wanting him to die.
Well, 12 months later, Giants were sucking it all the way to the playoffs, losing 4 of thier last 5 games.
Arizona would have been nothing but a speed bump anyway, no matter which team.

5th NFC championship game in the last 8 years, looks like theyre doing something right
JL8Jeff
01-11-2009, 03:35 PM
Giants had 138 yards rushing, the rushing game was doing fine, they picked the most obvious times to abandon it and pass and that's what did them in. Eagles had 59 yards rushing so that shows how bad they did. It's hard to believe either the Eagles or Cards will be going to the SuperBowl.

my poor PATRIOTS
now just imagine san diego beating the steelers
you would have an 8-8 team playing a wild card team for the AFC champ
and for the NFC we already have an 9-7 team playing a wild card team.
quite possible for an wildcard vs. wildcard superbowl:shock:

your absolutely correct Al. the bills did win 4 straight AFC champ games. then proceeded to lose 4 superbowls in a row. remember "wide right" the worst 2 words you can say in buffalo
I can't believe the Giants lost, But it is the NFL and even a third rate team like the eagles can can beat a great team like the Giants. I think the closest Mcnabb gets to a SB ring this year is shaking Kurt Warners hand next week. Go Cards!!

I still can't feel my toes or fingers.
Eli played like crap. The giants couldn't get a single yard when it mattered most.
The defense played extremely well, but field position played a huge roll in the game, and the eagles won that battle.

you Giant Fans crack me the **** up. typical excuses.. "Eli played like crap..." "the offense wasnt workin..." blah blah blah. how bout you give a little credit where credit is due....the Eagles Defense shut them down. i dont think ive ever seen a team not be able to convert on a 4th and a c*nt hair....and the Birds shut em down...not once, but twice!!!! both offenses struggled but we prevailed. Giants missed 2 field goals...ok, we'll give them to you, here 23-17..u still lose. Giants defense played great but gave up a few key plays and that was the differance. take your lumps like a man and admit when you've been out played....as the Giants were yesterday.
7998....thats right, this is the NFL and in the NFL the playoffs are a whole new season. thats when the real teams show up and "great" teams like the Giants fold under pressure. make sure you let Eli know Tee time is at 8 oclock tommorrow morning.

And what planet were you on in January 2008? I'm sorry man, but until the eagles win a superbowl I don't think you have much to say as far as "great" teams. If you wanna go by your own words then the giants were a great team three times, and the eagles were a great team...never!

Nobody is making excuses, the Giants did not deserve to win. Eli is the team leader and he did not do his job. Therefore it falls on him. Giants coaching staff also called some bad plays at critical points in the game so they are also to blame. Yes, the Eagles defense played well and they deserve credit without a doubt. If this turns into an Eagles/Baltimore SuperBowl, it might be the lowest scoring ever! It would also make for a nice cross-town type of rivalry as well. But the Eagles have to get past the old man to make it to the big game still!

The key play in that game was the Giants letting the Eagles convert on 3rd and 22. If the Giants stopped that it would have been a different game. But that aside, the Giants played like crap. I love my Giants, but they just didn't have it in them yesterday.

that comment was directed toward 7998 who called the Eagles a 3rd rate team....well, what does that make the "great" Giants THIS YEAR if they just lost to a 3rd rate team???
im on the here and now planet...im not worried about what happened last year. but, if 7998's comments hold true, the Giants were the 3rd rate team last year and they went all the way.....so we'll see what happens this year.

I'll give you this, the eagles out played the Giants for sure. The Giants just didn't show yesterday, Eli sucked, the play calling sucked and the eagles were there to take advantage of a sloppy Giants. But come on, you can't honestly say the eagles played good? The eagles are a mediocore team at best.

I think the coaching was horrible that game. Jacobs only had 9 carries in the first half. It was clear from the start Eli didn't have it. They should have been running the ball a lot more instead of playing out of the shotgun. I think with some better play calling it would have been a much different game.

the offense played like crap...with the exception of a few plays and thats all we needed. the defense, however, played an excellent game and no one can deny that. if i recall the Giants were one of the highest scoring teams this year where they not?? #2 or 3? and we held them to 0....thats right...0 touchdowns. Giants run defense played well aswell, it was the secondary that gave up some huge plays (3rd and 20 comes to mind).
the game of football is all about not making mistakes and the team that takes advantage of the other's mistakes usually comes out on top.

I was hanging out after the game, and it was crazy. Once the traffic died down, the cops seemed to just leave. Some very drunk people were starting fires on the ground, throwing burning embers randomly in the parking lot.
