Certs start at 9.999, then there is another level I think at 8.50, and then 7.00 or quicker or something like that. Why? What are you building?

Yes it is mandatory, If you don't have whats needed the track will tell you to slow down or toss you. Chass cert is based on ET or speed, you also need a NHRA licenses at certain ETs/Speed. I forget the breakdown, I'd need to look in the NHRA rule book for sure, but it starts at 9.99, I think the others are correct with the 8.50/150 MPH being the next level, then another at 6.99/200 MPH? I don't remember the requirements before you need an advanced ET license. Also there are different lics for door cars/open cars ( roadsters/dragsters). Once you have the first lic upgrading to the next level doesn't appear to be all that difficult.

There is allot of saftey equipment needed and the tracks tipically go over the cars in detail to ensure everything is as it should be. Also the certifacation and allot of the saftey equipment expires every few years.

ET licenses begin at 9.99 or 135 mph, and are good til 7.50. At 7.50 you need an advanced ET license. In each category there are also different licenses for over or under 135" wheelbase.

The cage certifications are pretty much what they had said. If you need an exact break down, i'll be getting a bunch of new rule books this week.

They've been $10 forever. I can't imagine the price going up this year.
