Don't touch it until its properly insured and you have all your riding gear. Good NEW helmet, leather gloves & preferably a leather jacket with armor, & don't ever wear sneakers when riding. You better have good health care or life insurance if you want to be a squid.

is that Hanover Powersports? good people there. the F4i is a nice smooth bike. def. smoother than my zx9, but not as torquey obviously due to displacement. I stalled it the first time I rode it b/c I was used to the zx9's low end torque. you'll have lots of fun with it. Just take it easy until you are comfortable with it , then start 'getting into it'.

while not wishing harm on another human being is one of my main goals, i have to say that without proper riding gear and tons of practice and instruction by a reputable motor cycle school, that this will be the inevitable conclusion. i just see too much of "it's mine, mom can't tell me when to ride it or not, i bought it and i'm going to ride the wheels off of it" in this purchase... i don't see anything about a new helmet or new boots or a new jacket...

I'm going to call :bs: here. You claimed to have purchased the bike on 12-16-2008 on a Facebook status update, posted on UBG's forum stating you had it, then you didn't and now you just received the tittle? Hell the instant I got to the dealership before I even thought of buying the bike I was taking a picture on my cell phone. Yet you still have the same two pictures from the dealership. I want to see it in your driveway with your firebird with your helmet, jacket & gloves on the seat.
And how you got away with such low insurance for ONLY HAVING YOUR PERMIT is beyond me. Somethings fishy. I payed $500 a year for my 2008 with Liability only for the first few months I had the bike with my Permit.

Soooooo, I gotta ask who is actually listed as owning the bike then.
My insurance is low, but that is because my bike is almost as old and decrepit as me. BTW, liability only for a new rider? You should rethink that one at least until you get some experience.
good plan, cheap liability and use mommy's health insurance to fix you.........what about the part where you get sued because the bike insurance dosent cover the property/injuries of whatever you hit?
btw, if i had liability when my bike walked off in the middle of the night, i would have been pretty upset about losing my hard earned money

LoJack only locates whatever part it is stuck to, unless they find it and then it will locate a dumpster. It also does nothing to rebuild or repair any damage resulting from theft or accident.
I am seriously urging you to get full coverage until you have at least a year of actual road riding experience.

When I had my permit NO insurance company at all would insure my bike (02 gsxr 750). They all said I had to have my license and the lowest price I could find was with rider for double what wayfast is paying.
on a more important note, matt how many miles are on the new rear sprocket and chain

I bet 1/2 the guys on this site don't have enough liability coverage on their car to cover hitting a new Z06, given last I looked state minimums were 15/30. BTW living at home and being a minor puts his Mom on the hook for what liability does not cover. Same for if he hits someone with the car.

There is a massive difference between 'feeling comfortable' and being a good and experienced rider. If you think feeling comfortable is enough to compensate for actual riding experience, you are fooling yourself.

If you think feeling comfortable is enough to compensate for actual riding experience, you are fooling yourself.
i've said it before, and i feel it needs saying again: i rode many years competitive motocross. i have years of experience riding over/through/around/avoiding someone else's mistake/accident and i will not ride a bike on the street. people driving cars do not see you.
i've seen too many accidents that were the fault of the other guy end up seriously injuring the bike rider, my uncle has pins/plates holding his left lower leg/ankle together, and all he did was take the bike around the corner to test drive it after some preventative maintenance. the other driver did not see him and turned right in front of him - he hit the car broadside, the bike stopped but he didn't and he went over the car landing on his left leg shattering most of the bone. again, he did nothing wrong - ie., he wasn't riding a wheelie down the length of his street, or standing on the seat in a jesus christ pose, or any of the nonsense i have seen other riders doing. he was taking it easy on a back road. and this was after he rode for many years with zero incidents/accidents.
on another occasion i raced a friend to the hospital so they could stitch his knee back together. it happened 15 feet from his driveway as he was coming back from a short ride. i've seen the knee's internals thanks to that episode, and again, he wasn't doing anything wrong it was the other driver that didn't see him and turned directly into him splitting his left knee wide open. living in a rural area at the time, it would have taken an ambulance 1/2 hour to get there and another 1/2 hour to get him to the hospital so i decided to take him instead and save a half hour. he has regained full use of his leg, but he can tell you when it's going to rain.
so, no, you won't catch me on the road on two wheels. not in this lifetime. but i'll throw one around all day long on the dirt (well, maybe not anymore, i haven't ridden since the workplace injury). understand that it's not fear that keeps me from it, it's the realization that you only have but so much luck, and there is no sense tempting fate by knowingly putting yourself in harm's way.

i almost hit a motorcycle this summer cause I simply didn't see him. i scanned and didn't see anything, switched lanes and almost clipped him. i know what you mean. that guy was not happy at all
anyways, best of luck matt with the new bike. respect it you will be fine
Whenever I ride I always figure that the guy pulling up to the stop doesnt see the sign or me. I always try to assume that whatever situation I am coming up on is going to go bad and how to avoid it. doesnt mean I dont have fun you just have to have eyes in the back of your head, and on the sides, and on your feet, and elbows, back, lol etc.

I just have a regular drivers license.I never took the test for a motorcycle license.I dont know how it is in NJ but in PA it just has a letter signifing motorcycle in the "class" section on your drivers license.I believe its the letter M for motorcycle.Ive gotten pulled over a few times throughout the years and not once has a cop ever said anything when I showed them my drivers license.Ive only had 1 accident back in 1992 when I hit a car that pulled out in front of me off of a side street.I was doing about 25-30 mph.Slammed on the brakes, the bike slid sideways and I ended up sitting on her front fender.I took out her fender and dented the hood with my clip on handlebar.Only damage to the bike was a broken brake lever and cracked spark plug cap.I just had a cut on my knee and was able to ride the bike home.I ended up losing my license for 3 months because I didnt have insurance.Had been riding without it for a few years at that time.Cop didnt say a word about my license. My impession is that regular patrol cops have no idea. Now getting pulled over by a cycle cop might be a different story
