Hi All,

I'm looking for a comfortable riding shock. I'm not interested in performance but want a softer ride. Any suggestions that won't bust the bank? Is a cheap shock soft or hard, like Monroe Gas-Matics ($16)? Planning to replace the rears with a set of Moog variable rate springs.

Art,

What car are we talking about? You have quite the stable. :)

What kind of car?
Monroe Sensatracks and Gabriel Ultra's are good...and its because they are the same shock.

If you just want a god ride, go to the parts store and get some sensatracks. Compliant but with a high speed valve if you hit a pothole or similar.

Sensatracs are solid, and give a nice solid ride no doubt. Lifetime warranty works good too.

But since I changed jobs...Gabriel Ultra's are better!! :)

That's exactly what I was doing, finished watching Transporter I. I know you won't get this message until noon when you roll out of bed. By then I'll be under the car changing something. Come on over, I have some sparkplugs with your name on them! LOL

P.S. I've been up since 6:30, ate, made breakfast for the kids, etc. just waiting for the parts store to open.

other cool thing about sensatracs is you can get the whole front strut assembly in one piece and do the swap in about 20 minutes without f'ing with the springs.

Quick Struts are only for some vehicles, not all. I dont belive that the 4th gen has a Quick Strut.

My bad, you're right, Edelbrock has the fully assembled for the 4th gen.

Someone told me they have a nice comfortale ride. Not harsh and stiff like the Billsteins or Monroe-matics.
