Heard a rumor about a Sonic going on RT22 in Greenbrook, by/at the old Tiny tots... Anyone confirm/deny?

The only potential new one I've heard of is a little further out. It was discussed here: http://www.njfboa.org/forums/showthread.php?t=38621&highlight=sonic

I always feel compelled to post a response whenever I see a post about Sonics. I read that too that one is getting built in Green Brook, which would be awesome since that is only 5 minutes from my house. I think that would be awesome if both got built in central NJ. The one in Lebanon and the one in Green Brook. I know where I would be every night in the summer. It would be cool to have car meets at the drive ins like the good ol' days, if they allow it.

Since there are a lot of classic car and muscle car owners in the area, I could only imagine the place would do great. However, I hope if these Sonics ever open, they don't draw a bad crowd. The one in Waretown seems to get a good crowd.

I read in the newspaper that someone was applying to build a sonic in green brook and that it looked hopeful. I haven't heard if it got the nod or not though.

If I walk in there and the place is PACKED, then I'm leaving, their food is good but not worth waiting a 1/2hr for. I hope it isint packed

The one in Waretown is still busy, but not packed. There are always spots free. We could easily fit 10-15 cars in there without disturbing anyone. From what I hear, the owner actually likes to have little car shows because it attracts more people to the store. I think it would be a good meet for like April when it starts to warm up a little bit. And then maybe after that cruise to the lighthouse since it's like a 30 min ride. Or go to the Lighthouse and cruise to Sonic for a late lunch/early dinner?

Mapquest says 41 mins from sonic to the lighthouse... No matter what it'd be a nice little cruise.

That's why I said do it in April. No traffic. I just took a trip to the lighthouse last week and was able to get there in 45 mins tops. I'm gonna start another thread to see what everyone thinks about a cruise/ stop at Sonic.

Obv. you have never been to Sonics.
You dont sit down inside it. Its a drive-in, so if there is no spot, you sit in a giant line and wait.
When they opened up in Waretown, the traffic was going down Rt 9.
And really, its not THAT super awsome. Its good, but I dont see myself driving an hour or more to go there.
Especially now I have two Five Guys within 20 mins of my house...oh baby.

Its less than 5 minutes from my house. 8-)

Although the whole eating in the car thing isnt going to fly with me, I'll just sit at a table.

I pass that place all the time. I wonder if it will pass though, given that so many burger joints are already on that road, and some of them are mom and pop places.
