On the 7th the group of Jeepers that went before is planning to meet at the Atison Ranger Station again. It was a lot of fun last time, anyone interested in hitting the trails again?

Plan is to be at the Ranger Station around 8:30 - 9:00 and head out. Maybe we can head straight back to Quarter Mile this time and make it further in.

Yup, the trails almost all have bail outs to get around the big holes and a lot of the spots are just big puddles.

big freaking deal, if he wants to take the truck out and have fun who the hell are you to say whether he is doing it right or not........

in the last thread you talked **** about the jeep guys being pricks.......sounds like you share much of the same mindset that makes them seem like pricks to outsiders/beginners

LOL always so god damn touchy mike.

Friends of mine have had personal experience with them. They are rude and the farthest thing from courteous on trails and nearly killed my one friend when he was fixing his truck because they thought it was a grand old idea to do 40mph around a blind corner.

I never said whether hes doing it right or not all I said was driving through puddles on fireroads isnt offroading. Paragon and Tellico are offroading. And you know who I am to say so? Someone whose been into the sport and built trucks purposely to do so thats who. Everyone into offroading has their own facet whether it be mud, rocks, trails, or sand but one thing is for sure, driving down dirt roads dont count.

Way to take a simple comment and once again turn it into a ridiculous argument mike.

Is this a particular group of Jeepers, or are you generalizing? I happen to belong to a large Jeep club (North Jersey Jeep Club, www.northjerseyjeepclub.org [Shameless plug]) and I have yet to meet anyone in the club who is a prick. We promote safe, responsible LEGAL (Note the capital letters, because Paragon is now closed and therefore illegal to wheel) wheeling and require members to have safety and recovery equipment. I've seen plenty of toolbags in Jeeps and every other kind of vehicle with a transfer case. But not everyone who drives a Jeep is an irresponsible prick. Now I'm done with my soapbox.

As for the definition of wheeling, I've done the Pine Barrons. Not my cup of tea, but I can't say it's not wheeling because I most certainly had to use 4LO to get out of a few of those holes. After the snow melts and the plow comes off my Jeep, I'd love to go out to Rausch Creek (About 40 miles south of Paragon, similar terrain) if any of you guys are game. But that's another post for another month.

A trip out to Rausch Creek sometime this spring / summer sounds good to me. I had hoped to get out to Paragon before they got shut down, but I never got the chance. I'm glad the airport plans for that site have pretty much fallen through now - serves the jerks right. :D

Why must you go on Saturday? Some people have to work every Saturday of their pathetic lives.

Sorry, we didn't pick the date - just joining in with some of the group that went down before.

Next ride we'll try to arrange for a Sunday.

Unfortunatly I didnt get to go that day its not my website, one of the guys I go with. I was out on the previous trip posted (12-20-08) I was riding in the white bronco (one of the guys I work with) cuz my trucks dead. I really want to go see that plane wreck too, but the brick factory was pretty neat and the paper mill is cool too but its fenced in.

I'm down for Rausch Creek I've been droolin to go hit some technical trails for a long time. Sick of just bombing mudholes at Lacey.

As for the jeepers I was talking about it was a specific group. I'm not saying if you own a jeep your a retard or anything like that. My buddy told me the story it was a group that frequents wharton often but thats not saying much. Although a stereotype it is somewhat true that alot of people green to offroading go for a jeep for their first ride though.
