do you realize how strong 200 decibels is?... a jet engine on takeoff at 100 feet is ~150 db

not only that.. every 10db = the sound is perceived to be twice as loud.
You need to measure something 10 times as loud as a jet?
EDIT: Eardrum rupture occurs around 160 decibels (conventional sound) to 185 decibels (nonperiodic blast pressure). Lung rupture and presumably embolism due to air blast occur at 200 decibels

LOL i say 130dbs.. and either you get a term lab or you wont get accurate readings. The pieces they sell at wal mart and such measure like 10+dbs higher than the real reading.

lol not that i won't believe it, its just hard to hit numbers like that. Especially with all that alpine stuff IMO
you wont believe him, because whatever they buy it probably wont be professional, and there will be no way of verifying its calibrations....so to honestly believe it, you would have to be there

True, i was just trying to make my point that 1) its hard to get a system to hit numbers like that and 2) unless its a termlab mostly all deebee meters are waaayy waaay off
