when is a driveshaft loop required? im placing an order with summit in a few mins and need to know if i should buy one or not

Driveshaft loop and long wheel studs are required on any car running slicks. A lot of tracks have been expanding the term "slicks" to include cheater slicks and drag radials

its also required on a car running under 11.49 i believe...dunno if ill actually go that quick but its nice to have anyway. any idea what the rule is for wheel studs? i knew i was forgetting something

I don't know the exact wording, but basically the studs need to stick out of the end of the lugnut at least as far as the width of the stud. So for example, if your wheel studs are 1/2" thick, then they need to stick out of the end of the lugnut by 1/2".

DS Loops are required on ALL cars running 13.99/quicker on slicks OR
11.49 and quicker on DOT tires.

Cheap insurance. It's not like a loop is a couple hundred dollars.

Wrong... Per NHRA rule they only need to come out past the washer on the shank of the lug nut

Yea, not sure what I was thinking when I wrote that. A 1/2" stud needs to stick into the hex portion of the lugnut at least 1/2", not out of the end of the lugnut.
