Cliffs: Hard top is nice, seals great and no wind noise. Soft top option is expensive and you have to put it together. 50/50 weight balance is still there, and its performance is the same as the roadster. Its 900 bucks more for the targa top version over the vert, soft targa top is an 1100 option.

The car looks great, but didn't anyone notice that targa top doesn't fit in the car?!

It's a great looking car. IMO I could live with the roof, but I think some buyers will be discouraged by the hassle of it. Not sure if it will make up half of Solstice sales.

Edit: Is the coupe only available as a GXP or will you be able to get it with the base engine?

LOL. Not the first time GM has done something like that. C3 Vettes with T-Tops have nowhere to store them...

Can't put the targa top in the car? How could they possibly overlook that in the design phase?

What's wrong with my point of view? Am I wanting too much?

The y-strap in the trunk area is supposed to be for holding the t-tops in place when they're in the bags. But I wouldn't call it a great design for storing them by any means.

nothing is wrong with your point of view, unless you use it as a reason you don't like the car, but at the same time added sub woofers that cause the same situation in a f-body

Meh...whatever. IMO, if you want top down fun, buy the cheaper roadster. If you wanted a coupe with optional removable top, get the targa.

Coupe is available for base and gxp.

I tried posting a comment a couple of times and it wouldnt post here. I rented the Solstice and had to turn it back in right away because I couldnt fit into it. My knees were on the dash literally. I am 6'0 ft exactly so I am not that tall. I think GM really screwed the pooch on that one if only shorter individuals can fit into this car. The Hertz gave me the Mazda MX-5 Conv instead and that was actually very comfortable and fun to drive. Anyone else try to get into this car and didnt fit?

There are pics someplace of Scott Settlemire driving and getting out of a solstice and he is way taller than 6ft. Did you try adjusting the seat?

I still don't know why GM didn't take the clip on hardtop that was already developed for the car instead of making a Z coupe knock off. Keep the fully developed, existing vehicle and sell the hard tops as an accessory just like they did for the old Corvette convertibles and Mazda still does for the Miata.

I'm 6'4" 240, and I fit in the Solstice just fine. I've been in Little G's GXP 2 or 3 times.
