My car runs rough from time to time in idle when in drive or park. No check engine light Ever! other then that the car runs great . When i start to accelerate its a little choppy especially after the car has been running for a good bit and when its either hot or humid. then after i get past 12 1300 rpms then it's back to normal. I think it might be an EGR problem but im not sure at all. Can someone help?
My Car
1999 Camaro SS LS-1 346ci ALL STOCK
67,000 Miles
I purchased it with 60,500 miles and have owned it for exactly 2 years.
Thanks in advance!!!

I have a Diablosport programmer that can scan for codes and watch some of the sensors while it's running if you want to check the car out. I actually have a spare EGR as well if you wanted to try it for testing.

It sounds similar to an EGR problem but could be something else like plugs or wires. My car ran like that after I did the header install and forgot to put plug wire #8 back on the plug!

pull a plug out and see what they look like...the car may have sat for a while before you bought it and could have fouled plugs.

The sensors in the MAF might be dirty, or you need new plugs. When is the last time you changed the plugs if ever?
It might also be a shot O2 sensor, but I think you would throw a code for that.

Does the check engine light come on when you first start the car? If not, then the bulb is prolly bad you may actually have codes.

If you want to stop by one day we can check the car out on the scanner. I'm on the border of Ewing and Titusville so I'm not that far from you.

when i said the light comes on i just meant at start up then turns off, so i dont know if the scanner will bring anything up.

If there are old codes they might still show up. And if there are any not ready conditions they will show up as well.

If you want to stop by after work one day or over the weekend we can scan it and you can try swapping the EGR if you want to see if that eliminates it.

Hopefully that vacuum leak was the only problem. How was it running after driving it home and giving it a chance to clear itself out? It was interesting watching the computer try to compensate for the extra air getting in and then going into limp mode to balance it back out. I'll look for the replacement pcv valve part # I grabbed for my car.
