What is this country coming to?
I live in a small rural town, in central NJ
The bank that i use, PNC, down the street from my house was robbed yesterday, second time in a year. I can stand on my porch and practically spit on the place. 3 Hispanics with a gun and a dog held up the place sometime around noon, and made off with a bunch of money. Then apparently tried to cross over into PA via the 202 toll bridge. Where they were spotted by a lambertville police officer, they crashed through the toll both and got away, but were caught a little later. and im told, The police apparently found pipe bombs and incendiary devices in their apartment, and they believe they are responsible for robbing the wachovia bank in New hope about a month ago.
I cant find a news article yet, but im sure there will be one at least locally.
What the f is going on? This is crazy
heres an article

You better buy your guns before a certain someone who has a certain title appoints people that want to take them away. ;)

Obama's gunna take your guns and kill your still born babies.
Its in the Stimulius package, thats what Rush Limbaugh said.

?
we will always be able to own fire-arms per the second amendment, even if the bill to abolish firearm use/sale come about it would be very very hard to pass. If thats what you mean.....

The Supreme Court is going to take a big change in direction under this Administration. Does that mean gun restrictions will toughen? Perhaps...but for the gun people why take a chance? It doesn't matter to me since I can't own one but the right is still a right that shouldn't be messed with. Better safe that sorry. Also, it won't be up to "him" rather than the people he will be appointing. "HE" doesn't have the direct power to change it himself. ;)
Is there even a place in this country that is crime free anymore? It's sad that crime is slowly creeping into remote areas.

its proven that areas with less gun laws, are more crime free. people think twice about robbing homes when they know everyone is packing heat. THE BAD GUYS WILL ALWAYS BE ABLE TO GET GUNS. take away law abiding citizens firearms and you cause MORE violence and crime because now i can't protect my home and my family.

+1. I try explaining this to people and they dont get it. Crime will sky rocket if everyone has a gun! the criminals that want/need them that bad for cirminal activies already have them. I have a rambo knife in my room and a wooden long bow in my house...if someone tries to come in here nobody else will even hear it

fixed for you. some studies i came across online that i will try to locate again have shown that districts that allow concealed carry permits have less crime. the criminals will always have/able to get guns, these laws just make it harder to protect ourselves.

Well, tech, if NO ONE has a gun, then yes, gun related crimes will disappear.
Problem is stopping people from getting a gun. The goverment will restrict purchasing of certain wepons, and I have no major problem with that. Since only one ammendment has been repealed in the 220 year history of our country, I dont think that anyone is losing thier guns anytime soon. Someone refresh my memory, but did we not have guns from 92 to 00?
Guns are bad, everyone should trade thier guns in for flowers and rabbits.

Al legally purchased guns AREN'T the ones being used in bank robberies...you think a criminal is going to care if its illegal to own a gun...nope just makes it easier to rob the rest of us

You are missing the point.
On paper, if guns were illegal, and there were no guns available, then there would be no gun crimes.
But, of course thats not possible, so you will never not have your guns. Its in the Bill of Rights. Its not going anywhere. Obama or anyone in his administration is going to take them away from you.
If you own a SAW or a heavy machine gun, and you are not currently employed by the military, then you might be losing that. But the majority of wepons will not be taken away from you.
And who's to say that legally purchased guns werent involved in any type of gun crimes? I think thats stupid to say. I dont think that every gun purchased through legal channels are 100% clean and never involved in any gun related crimes.

unless you buy one brand new...like I do ;)
now I'm getting two 12guages this spring. a mossberg 835ultra mag, which fires up to 3.5in 12g rounds with barrels set up for turkey deer and waterfoul, I plan to get the turkery/deer combo. I also plan on getting a 935 autoloader (semi auto mechanical action) for goose/duck in 3in shell waterfoul barrel...thats not really over kill but I'll tell you what, ain't nothin gettin up from a 3.5in single ought, remington nitro buck round. Those things are wicked to fire.

I actually have a very big problem with the bolded statement. Most of the weapons that deal a great amount of damage are too big and heavy to be used successfully in most crimes. why cant people in cali have 50 cal. rifles? Why cant I legally own 30 round magazines for a semi-automatic rifle? I mostly just fed up with the government regulating firearms to death. It is NOT their job to decide what is best for me, it is their job to represent me.
and for a good look at what gun control does to crime, look at the difference between Washington D.C. during the handgun ban and Kennesaw Ga. where every home must, by law, have a loaded weapon inside.

It comes down to this......
If you care about owning guns and keeping the right to bear arms, join the NRA. I am a member and they let you know of everything that is going on and it is important since obama's administration is the most strict about gun laws

Ian, you can't have a .50 cal cause it costs to much to shoot and if you miss, someone in the next county over might get shot. ;)
Cabelas had a .50 semi in their display for a little over 4k.... it was pimp.

Bingo. That's why they are called outlaws, they work outside of the law. The only people that more laws will effect are the ones who buy guns legally for all the reasons other then to use them for crime.

Some years ago when I lived near Englishtown, the PNC bank near my house on 33 east was robbed also. The robbers blew a hole in the wall and jacked the whole ATM machine in the back of a pickup truck.
Regarding the guns, you're a little late. It's damn near impossible to find anything in a military-style semi-auto mag-fed rifle ("assault weapon" for you antis) since November. Ammo in the more popular calibers is getting scarce too.
I'm covered by several specimens of the fine firearm in my sig, along with a host of others for when the shizzle hits the fizzle.;)

Be thankful you don't live in IL. Their wonderful government is coming up with a bill that would force you to carry a 1 million dollar INSURANCE policy covering negligent use...meaning if you used it in a negligent way you'd be covered by an insurance company. There's currently NO insurance company that offers that type of policy. Gotta love it...they won't mess with the 2nd Amendment...they'll just add restrictions that make it impossible to own a gun legally. I really hope it gets shot down.

You don't have to look that far. On Monday, the Senate here in NJ will be voting on bill S1774 to limit handgun purchases to one a month. There are currently bills waiting in the wings for, among other things, banning .50 cal firearms, making so-called "assault weapons" even more "illegaler" and, of course, the new Attorney General Eric Holder's baby, H.R.45 , which basically makes it easier to get a face-to-face with the Pope than for a citizen to buy a gun.
