washed my car today, when im about to hit the road..car doesnt start. bring my civic up the driveway give it a jump start, it cranked, then clicked, then nothing. turned the key again, no crank nor click.

the starter took a dump? correct me if im wrong please.

If it's a manual try to bump start it. If it starts, then you know it's the starter.

You just push start it:

With two people:

Person A sits in the car with the trans in 1st, the clutch pressed, and the key in the on position. Person B pushes the car and gets it going as fast as they can. At that point, person A dumps the clutch and the car may start.

With one person:

Put the trans in neutral, key in the on position. Push the car as hard as you can with the door open. Once it's moving, jump in, stab the clutch in, put it in first, and dump the clutch as fast as you can. Again, the car may start.

Sounds like your battery may be the problem, though.

oh arrite i see what it is. me and my friends use the term rolling start for it.

i mean you think it can still be the battery even if i used cables and connected it to another car? and still wouldnt even crank?

Yes, if there isn't enough juice in a battery, even hooked up to another car via cables the car won't start.

Yep.

Hooking up a small Honda's battery and engine may not be anywhere near what you need to start a 350 with a totally dead battery.

hmm i see. maybe ill drop 10 bucks and have it recharged at a local gas station and work from there

Could be a really weak battery and the bushings in the solenoid getting worn and not making good contact. I've had some starters/solenoids that seemed to go bad and it was just the bushings. They get burned over time. You can pull the solenoid and open it up to look at them. Battery still sounds weak as well though.

turn on the headlights and see if they look pretty normal or if they are dim and brown. should indicate the charge of the battery. ensure the battery cables are tight.

Nope, bight headlights do not mean the battery is good. I wrestled with a bad battery that was holding 12.6 volts in an old 4Runner. All the power accessories worked, the headlights were bright but it wouldn't even crank over a 4 cyl. I thought it was the starter and replaced that, nope. New battery cables, nope. I finally pulled a battery out of the basement that was in my 69 Camaro, put a fresh charge on it and it started right up! These problems can seem obvious but you don't want to waste too much money replacing parts that are perfectly fine. Try topping off the battery or see if you can borrow a battery from another vehicle. Then start checking the cables and starter/solenoid.

yeah everyone was right it was the battery. i should have known because the fuel pump wasnt getting much power. i thought it needed to warm up because it was in the freezing cold the past few months. but i guess im just an idiot.

You can stand in the parking lot of your Pizza hut and stare at the front door of a Battery and Electrical service place. They sell Dekas I think.

just got it charged. it was free so i doubt they did any of that.

I have friends at autozone and use to work at r&s strauss. They load test the battery for free as well to check if its good or not, then they charge it...usually.
They also check your alt and starter for free...alt on car...starter has to be off the car.
If your battery craps out again I might have a spare.

the battery has to be fully charged to load test it.
