This is what you get for going out and trying to get to work because your new boss says "I need you" " Your the only one we got today".
As soon as I get off the phone with that bs I hit the ****ing curb braking one of my new wheels the only nice thing on my ****ing car! Wheel is SHOT and the steering column is catching the brakeline thats underneith it lucklly its not rubbing/grinding against the two fuel lines right next to the brake hardline.

Does anyone know what could have happened if I smacked the curb with the left front wheel, that would cause the steering column to catch on the brakeline under it? I mean everything looks pretty normal as far as front suspension stuff I even noticed that all the bushings are fairly new great now that I got this problem.

When you turn the wheel it turns fine except the knuckle catches on the brake line and it clicks everytime it happens I know if i tried to drive like that for long it will destroy that line, so what could I do to fix this? Could the whole frame have been pushed up on that side causing the clearence issue with the brakeline? I mean i hit the curb hard but at 5-10 mph MAX. When it hit the wheel was facing parallel to the curb thus causing a 4 inch section of the wheel to go BYE BYE (yet it still holds air but im def not driving on that ever again).

AHHH if its not one thing its another.

I did that to my saturn a few years ago, replaced the wheel, got it aligned and that was that. Can you just move the brake line? Is it a hard line or flexible one?

Alignment isnt that off but yea that will need to be done. I thought about moving the brake line too, but it is a hardline and its a pretty tight location. Ill try to take a pic later or ms paint what it looks like

If the car is really rusty you may have pushed the front subframe back.

And if so part it out.

I bent the brake line out of the way about half an inch test drove it with new front wheels/tires. Doesnt even shake at 75 like it did with the other wheels/tires. Pulls to the left pretty bad tho :(

How did you hit the driver's side front wheel on a curb?
the only thing I can think of is pulling into a driveway.

Car pushed while making a right turn, bounced off the opposite curb I would guess....

You smacked the LH wheel and now it pulls hard left and you think the clearance from the frame and steering column moved. You probably pushed something back on the LH side. If you are lucky it is jsut the lower a arm. Take it to a shop and get a professional opinion. This time the interweb will not solve your issue.

and dont test it by doing 75 mph thats retarded

Me thinks you were going faster than 5-10mph...

:( well I will keep it at moderate speeds and continue driving it only from point a to b and hopefully this weekend ill have a shop look at it. I think the sub frame is pushed up tho, this car has alot of rust and well ill take better pics when I get my new digital cam.
Justin def got it right on how it happened.

you are going to tear up the front tires. I recommend to try and get it looked at before the weekend if you can.

so worse case scenerio...sub frame/frame in the front got pushed back/bent upwards. Totalled? Just part the car out?

BonzoHansen

Find out what is wrong and go from there. Do not drive it except to the shop.

If the subframe or unibody was tweaked, i'm sure insurance would total it, and i wouldn't bother trying to fix on a beater v6. Part it out for sure if that's the case.

If it pushed it over that far, I wouldn't risk driving it. Just for safety sake.

I had auqa tread tires in the front and bfg gforce t/a's in the back lots of meat on all the tires. All the roads were cleared except inside my neighborhood like usual. & I was literally 70ft from the main road that was cleared when it happened!

If those BFGs were KDW's and not KDWS's then there you go... BTDT.

And with aqua-treads in the front can you say heavy understeer? Except in the wet, then heavy oversteer. Maybe that is what they call balance :lol:
